We have some great players but our team as a whole is lacking a lot of things. Someone who can score (and isn't always injured), full backs, a partner for Chiellini etc.
I am not sure if you are contesting my argument, agreeing with it, or just showing indifference.:shifty:

We have some fantastic players, but you can't help players when they get broken noses or injured from a tackle. That is just unlucky. On a bright note though, the weather today where I live has been the warmest day all winter.

All teams lack certain things. Pick any winning team and they had plenty of problems too. We really need to get rid of this myth that the only way to win is to spend more money than everyone else.

Same here actually.

You can't deny that we need a replacement for Cannavaro, a RB, a LB and a forward.

I don't see why I would have to deny any of that to have my point still stand. Last year we did okay in defense without Cannavaro. So if he's the problem, just bench him. And we haven't had great fullbacks since Thuram and Zambrotta. But that is a weakness you can compensate for tactically. And having no forward who's fit is clearly a botched job on the part of the medical team, so once again it's not because the squad isn't good enough.

So you think we'll be fine with Legro starting beside Chiellini next season with Ariaudo as the only back up?

We don't necessarily need need great full backs but we do need some full backs. Zebina and Grosso are on the way out, and Caceres is only here on loan. Not only are most of our forwards usually injured, their average age is over 31 and one of them wouldn't score in barrel of fannies.*

Very true. We might have needed to look for new players if we'd had problems only against big teams in the league and Europe but our squad, as skimpy as it has been in the last matches, with Cannavaro, Grygera and Melo playing there is still much stronger than the likes of Chievo and Catania. The problem is clearly more than lacking good players especially when we're playing in a ridiculously mediocre league.

We LACK every sense and notion of the concept of a TEAM and use of a trained and well drilled gameplan that makes them work as a unit (anyone care to tell me what it is if you disagree?). And thats 100% on Ciro, and NO ONE ELSE (our players, against Bari, huddled up in mid game to loudly discuss what to do, in the middle of the fucking game). I would understand questionning the players if we HAD a team and were gunning for titles or just wanting to better. But we are FAR from having that luxury problem. We lack the fucking basics in so many ways, and thats on the coach in every single god damn way, I CANNOT believe the deflecting of the issue to the players, seriously.

I see average, even below average players play as a competent and useful team unit who play good football every god damn week in several different leagues . WE dont, and thats for 1 reason, and 1 reason alone, and just FYI, that reason isnt the players, faaaaar from it.

Just take a simple examples of minnows/small teams like Bari (most impressive small team in Serie A), Montpellier (3rd in league, promoted this season), Mallorca (4th) and Fullham (REALLY good upstart team). Look at them, and tell me how they play considerably better then us nowadays is due to "better" players. I mean seriously, our biggiest main issue is fucking obvious. Dont lose sight of the fucking obvious. We are NOT a team this season, and I repeat, the reason for that is 1 reason and 1 reason alone.

3-4 years ago, I never thought I would miss the days of winning league titles in the most frustrating and hair pulling boringly way under Capello, I SO hated his guts and his football, and couldnt wait a second longer for him to be gone (despite liking and appriciating tactically cynical football in several ways), even if meant winning little less (I still despise the fuck outta of Capello, regardless of immensely great players and winning). Heck, I cant believe I miss 8-9 months ago, when we "sucked" and were boring as heck/uncreative under Ranieri, but I miss it because despite being incompetent and rigid as team, that we were ATLEAST A TEAM.

Now, I mean seriously, to not even be a team in any shape or form is really a torture. It really makes me appriciate coaches way more, we focus so much on players we forget what a coach does at times (even incompetent ones doing the basics), and how insanely vital the simple organisation and unit building schemes are. The depressing chaos of not having semblance of that is really painful to watch with your team. We can have 11 lions, but it matters fuck all when its a donkey leading them to the battle.

i can say we lack attraction for players to come here... like i said earlier in my post the 90's Serie A was the best now our football is dead..no one big really checks italy out anymore just England and Spain... so this makes us offer more money to players...

prefect player was wesley sneijder he came out saying he was completely wrong about Serie A style of play and loves it.. i think most players in England and Spain look down on Italy

it actually is, too much quality in one area and hardly any in others means our squad is not that good. But even then we should be comfortably finishing top 3 in this relatively inconsistent serie A. Bench canna in favor of whom? and thats why we need reinforcements. so with a good coach we can do "ok", top 3 finish in serie A and thats about it, combine that with good purchases we get a good squad.
