Cristian Chivu’s agent has categorically denied reports that the Roma ace has agreed terms with Juventus for next season.
The Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claimed this morning that the defender would be heading to the Old Lady after allegedly already holding talks.
But Andrea Pretti has this afternoon rubbished the report after insisting the there has been no contact with Juve or anyone else.
“We have often had to comment on groundless news regarding Chivu over the past few years,” Pretti told Retesport.
“There is no agreement with Juventus and we have not discussed a new contract with any Italian or foreign club,” added the Romanian’s representative.
“We have always behaved correctly and we would immediately inform Roma if we were to receive an offer.”
The defender, signed from Ajax in 2003, has been associated with a host of clubs in the past such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter and Milan.
However, Pretti claims that he’s about to start talks with the capital giants over a contract extension seeing as Chivu’s deal expires in 2008.
“We have not discussed any numbers with Roma, but I honestly don’t think this renewal will represent a problem,” he added.
“I am sure we will reach an agreement which will satisfy all the parties involved fairly soon.”
