Based on what exactly? I can understand this optimism if we were actually playing something resembling football, which we currently aren't. I'd rather avoid City and PSG; let them face, and hopefully get eliminated by, Bayern and Real Madrid.
Over the last few years we could beat anybody. This year it's painfully obvious we're not at that level. We should be. But we're not.

Spartak and CSKA both travel to England to play Liverpool and United in the last matchday and could progress with a win. CSKA needs 4-0 vs United, Spartak needs any win to top Pool

Based on the fact that we are always sloppy at the beginning of the season. I'm not sure if we were in the upper half of the table two years ago at this time. Whereas teams like City or PSG will not play better. I'm not that impressed by City. Sooner or later Aguero will get injured again, who knows if Gabriel Jesus will handle the pressure or will injure himself as well. They have Otamendi and Stones as their first CB pairing.
We'll see how long that fire barrel called psg last. They score for fun thanks to individual skills of their players but their only test this season was against Bayern that fired its coach few days later. We'll see how they do in Allianz in the next game against the Bavarians yet still it won't be a decent test since both teams already qualified.
You are hoping for Real to eliminate one of psg and city without recognizing the fact their game is arguably worse than ours. Do you know why? Because you are afraid to trust the club. You are afraid they gonna hurt your feelings so you rather be negative and count for a pleasant surprise somewhere deep down inside you.

I, as a Juve fan, am not afraid of any of these teams because even during those three years under Max the team always showed up when it mattered. This season it will be the same.

Its months till these knockout games. Team might improve/gel and play much better then.

Exactly, remember Real finished second in the group last year.
Finishing second is better IMO, come Feb the likes of Real, Barcelona and Bayern will turn the corner as will Real. Also I think we tend tonbe bettee when we play the first game home first.

How bout 2015/2016
Beat Man City home and away that season and gave Bayern a good go. Had we not given Bayern too much respect, we would have beat them too.

Consider doing the forum a favor and spare us from your agenda.

Home and away against Man City means two games, we also had a good game against Sevilla at home; We were pretty good in CL. We won 7 matches in a row from October to December as well

If you've been watching Tottenham lately, they've began to decline already. Come February I will be confident against them. I really hope we finish second in the groups.

The games last year against Barcelona and especially Monaco were magical. The team was literally perfect and all the euphoria, man. I want to relive this soon
