I knew it was going to be tough for them with the 3-5-2, it's a terrible formation to use against teams with pace in a 4-3-3. So much space out wide to exploit and then one cutback to the middle when the centre midfielders cover the wings because of no wingers
It's so shocking. As soon as Kolarov moves up anywhere from the CBs, Salah just slides into that spot. I mean, so so basic. Then you are left with Juan Jesus of all people as the defense against Salah?

You need a 4-3-3 where the LW can come back to help the LB. Then you need a CM always showing to block Salah coming onto his left foot. There's no other choice, otherwise Salah is unplayable.

Yes we learned the hard way against Bayern in 2013 that 3-5-2 is a total miss match to a 4-3-3, Di Francesco will learn from this I hope but in my opinion the loss is totally on him. It was over before the game began

Pathetic from Di Francesco. First of all a 3-5-2 vs. a 4-3-3 is a big mismatch, let alone allowing Kolarov to be so aggressive and vacate *that exact area* that Salah enjoys getting the ball.

The exact area!

Put a LB there ffs. Put 2 players there.

its like they didnt have Salah for 3 years with them in training every day

Roma did well with what they had this year. Bearing in mind they are poor financially. They beat Barcelona and Chelsea, but their weaknesses were shown. Juve are by far the best team in Serie A, on paper, despite what the league shows. I don't think this match will change people's view of Serie A.
