his poor performance was because he was constantly droping very deep in the mid.

since there was no link between the mids and attack (pereyra) and often our 3 4cms were playing in our own half.

The man has a poor match (by his amazing standards), and somehow manages to still create the first goal, and win the penalty and convert it for the second. :heart:

He wasn't taking opportunities to put Morata through today. That sublime pass to him by Morata, where he just had to give a nice pass back and Morata was through on goal. Or when Sturaro made that great run and pass back to Tevez, Morata was just to the right, and would have been through on goal if Tevez slipped him the ball, instead he took a poor shot.

But, whatever. Hard to criticize him for a minor mistakes when he created both our goals, and was immense with his work rate back in the midfield area and build-up.
