I know what Sacchi meant. These players can easily fit into this team or any other team in Europe. That isn't the problem. I see why Pirlo was brought and Vidal as well. Not WC players but players that will make this formation work. We still need a WC striker that can literally terrorize a defense on his own and make his own goals, create goals, give us a third attacking dimension rather than just relying on 2 wingers. Juventus would not have been what it was the last 15 years without a player like Ale, it just wouldn't have been without a player of this caliber to connect the dots.

We needed a Sanchez, Kun, etc. We really did, now we have to rely on Quag and Matri. LOL
Pirlo is not sorted for Conte's formation and I doubt it was his request.

Conte's idea of central midifielders seems to be all about work rate and short passing. One stays low, the other can help the attack. So, Pirlo and Pazienza/Marrone is the worst duo we can ever see for this system as they both sit back and create a big hole between them and the strikers.

Of course we need a world class player. More than one actually.

At this point in time for Juve, when we can't get such players, it's better to buy very good players who fit the system (Vucinic for 15 + Vidal for 10 + Licht for 10 + Vargas for 12-13) instead Aguero for 45 and keep Iaquinta instead of Vuci, Sissoko instead of Vidal, Motta instead of Licht and Pepe instead of Vargas. My point is, as good as Aguero is he alone, playing alongside Pepes, Martinezs, Mottas and the likes, was not gonna change as much as replacing those idiots with good players is going to change.
If Aguero doesn't stand in the way of buying 3-4 very good players, then of course everyone would prefer him to Rossi or Vucinic.

But it's futile to discuss it since we obviously can not attract Aguero or players like him so we should go for the best available.

Same goes for Rossi. Buying him for 30m and sacrificing important positions in the team for Rossi is lunacy. I don't even rate Rossi higher than Vucinic, but even if I did rate him slightly better, I'd always choose Vucinic for 15+Vargas for 12+Lugano for 3 instead of splashing 30 for Rossi.
You know that Aguero wouldn't come alone, come on... Lichtsteiner would still come for sure, all the freebies too and maybe one of Vidal/the new LW would most probably come as well.

So, Aguero > Vidal/LW, Vucinic and Lugano.

And you make it seem like Pepe, Motta, Martinez, Sissoko and Iaquinta are starters lol. We have better starters than those and we need players to put our starters on the bench, not players to sub our backups or players slightly better than our starters...

You are taking quantity over quality, just as Marotta does. Even if the quantity isn't crap at all in this case, they still aren't the better options.

Interesting that there is repeated comments from Conte and the players about the players enjoying playing how Conte wants them too.

They must have been getting really sick of following Delneri's instructions. :D

Like I said, at this point we can't even come close to such players so when I used Aguero for 45 it was just an example and I meant paying big money for 1 single player who won't be worth it.
Since that player won't be Aguero or whoever is class and demanded by the top clubs, it would be Pastore for 40m, Rossi for 35 and the likes (A situation like the one when we splashed 50m on Diego and Melo and completely sacrificed other positions, which is what put us in this situation at first place).

Since we're out of the game for the top quality players all I expect is buying smart, buying good players and buying them on time, like the transfers of Vidal and Vucinic were. Like the transfers of Zlatan and Robinho were for Milan last year. There are and there will be quality players on the market which, for whichever reason, will cost less than their realistic value. Hunt those players and don't pay for guys who aren't world class at all but hold a world class price tag due to an excellent season they had. Last year Vucinic would have cost us some 10 million more. Diego was sold for 10 less the season after. Rossi could easily be the same case and his price will definitely not be any/much higher next year even if he has another good season. But buying Rossi now for the demanded 35 could prove costly and result in a weaker team than the team that will have Vucinic, Vargas, Vidal and Lugano bought at the right time and bought for ~40m.

So far nothing to write home about - we still have Juve of the last two seasons
The first 2 games id agree with you but in out third game in the first half I saw a totally different Juve team in the way they move the ball. Yes its no where near perfect and we were playing maybe 3 starters in that lineup but the fact Contes way of playing is starting to sink in and we are slowly getting away from that kick and run crap then obviously fitness took over and we saw Chivas take over but hey I am optimistic about Contes way of playing. Shoot we won 2 1-0 games. Whenwas the last time we saw Juve grind out 1-0 wins? 2006! Add Lugano so Bonucci will feel pressure for a starting role add Vucinic So Conte can imply different types of formations and depth. Then add vargas/bastos with the coming on of Paolucci as back up (who impressed me but still raw obviously) I think we can compete for that 3rd spot. Unless Marotta messes up and not get a damn LW again we will be fine under Conte.

Agree with this. I'm not that hopeful about Conte setting up some super offense but at least give us a strong backline that's good enough for Europe.
