Because he's played 3 matches with one formation? Which coach changes formation every game?
Thats not taking the excuse that friendlys are used just for that. Experimenting with formation. Lets give him time, but the obvious signs aint looking promising. That said I dont give a shit what formation conte actually plays, as long as we do the job and play good football with it. Im all roses.

Exactly. Do people want him to tinker with formations for the sake of being known as "flexible". As long as it's working, then there's no problem. If the team is struggling with the 4-4-2 and he can't adapt then fine, criticise.

Like I said, at this point we can't even come close to such players so when I used Aguero for 45 it was just an example and I meant paying big money for 1 single player who won't be worth it.
Since that player won't be Aguero or whoever is class and demanded by the top clubs, it would be Pastore for 40m, Rossi for 35 and the likes (A situation like the one when we splashed 50m on Diego and Melo and completely sacrificed other positions, which is what put us in this situation at first place).

Since we're out of the game for the top quality players all I expect is buying smart, buying good players and buying them on time, like the transfers of Vidal and Vucinic were. Like the transfers of Zlatan and Robinho were for Milan last year. There are and there will be quality players on the market which, for whichever reason, will cost less than their realistic value. Hunt those players and don't pay for guys who aren't world class at all but hold a world class price tag due to an excellent season they had. Last year Vucinic would have cost us some 10 million more. Diego was sold for 10 less the season after. Rossi could easily be the same case and his price will definitely not be any/much higher next year even if he has another good season. But buying Rossi now for the demanded 35 could prove costly and result in a weaker team than the team that will have Vucinic, Vargas, Vidal and Lugano bought at the right time and bought for ~40m.
My post was just in an hypotethical case of Aguero coming, but yes, atm we can't attract players like him with other clubs in the race to beat. Youngsters like Jojo and maybe Mata or even Hazard don't seem way too much out of our reach, though, and they wouldn't cost us more than 20/30M. We damn need one of those wicked youngsters to build around for the next years, just like Roma seems to be doing it with Lamela.

And well, at least Vucinic gives us some margin if any of those special opportunities you talk appear by the end of the window. I mean, now we could get a top (the so promised champion) CM, LW, or SS to complete the squad. We'd just need to slightly adapt the formation to that eventual new player, but as Conte probably will keep the 4-4-2, the most logical option would be a LW. Oh, and even if we don't buy more players, we already have a good team, so, at this point, I would just go for a new player if it was a really good opportunity for us.

The way I see it is we missed out on Aguero because Man City offered crazy wages. If we got him for 38ml ok good, I think we still would have gotten a LW but perhaps not a CB. Now there is no point in getting Rossi who is a good player but so is Vucinic who is far cheaper and arguably far more creative. Get Mirko, get Vargas, get Lugano and even if we save a little bit of cash for the next transfer market it would be a good thing.

I agree that a mediocre midtable Italian club, like the one we have become cannot buy any classy players...
I also agree that we must respect our limited funds and use them wisely.
Set some priorities, focus on the and upgrade our team.

Buying new SSs and CMs EVERY year, while neglecting the other spots is NOT, at any case buying smart, its utter stupidity!!
We could easily have avoided buying Vidal and Vucinic, these were never our priorities and those overcrowded positions (CM and SS) should never be our star signings.
We are repeating the same mistake, EVERY single year, since we have returned in serie A and we are keep doing that.
There are no guarantees that Vidal is any better than Melo and Vucinic any better than quaq, there was no need to spend the majority of funds and attentions to make this seeming-less upgrade/swap and considering by our past, it is extremely likely hat we are bound to repeat that process next year, as we do each and every year...

At least a classy SS or CM may end this moronic circle of useless cash wasting...

Thats not what our team needs, but that what our manager need, i would rather spend 35-45 mil on Aqueros/Rossis once, than spending 18-25 for Iaquintas, Amauris, Quaqs, Vucinic EVERY year.

Obviously this is my opinion but Vidal is better I think. Hes more composed then Melo and way more versatile then Melo can ever be. Alot better in attack may not be a physical presence like Melo but by no means any easy to take off the ball. I believe is was a German paper that has his total stats of how many times be touched the ball and was involved with the play through out every game for the whole season 2010-11 season and he averaged to be involved in the play every 37 seconds. That statistic is freaking insane. Melo would disappear many times. So I think buying Vidal was huge personally but Vucinic Im not sure. I think he'd be a good buy again due to his style of play and his versatility as a player but I do believe a LW should be bought before anyone else.

It's the wages killing us. Plus players are cowards now like Aguero who'd rather hide at Man city and live off his pseudo fame instead of taking the chance to become a WC protagonist.

Am I the only one who thinks we can win the scudetto this season? Conte has the heart and passion, Del Piero's possibly last season, sexy new stadium, krasic has rested over pre season and will come out flying. If we stay injury free and ride our luck from time to time, I believe we can give it a good shot! Don't be so negative people! Marotta has done well in the market. Aguero is class but the costs involved with him are just ridiculous! Get a good LW (Vargas) and Lugano, and we'll be strong. I can feel it.. be positive! We Are JUVENTUS!

I wish I was as optimistic as you lool...but ever since we came back from Serie B I was optimistic almost every season and got disappointed everytime...Right now I'm simply hoping for the best and kind of expect the worse (no CL).
