I also dont agree with the 3-5-2 formation but when comes to last night in particular, i have to say that we dont know what would have happened if Bonucci didnt fuck up. That kind of fuck-up's you just dont include in your plans when creating tactics. I just really cant help but think that behind ever Conte's decision there is some perfectly good logic that we really cant see and he (and the players) are the only ones who see it. Anyways, 4-3-3 with DC as LB and Vucinic and Quags as LW and RW with Matri as ST is what i would like to see the most.....

Starting Borriello against Milan was nothing short of suicide, what was Conte thinking? the 3-5-2 clearly does not work, time to go back to the 4-3-3.

But in fairness to Conte, no matter how much you prepare your team all week, you'll always be holding your breath when Bonucci gets on the ball, fuck up that he is.

I'll judge Conte after our next game, if he againt start with 3-5-2 and similar starting line up like last night, than he deserve all the critics...

Yes, because even if we win the formation doesn't suit our players and it would be shameful to play such a defensive one against fucking Chievo Verona.

If it works, it works. I don't care which formations we use as long as we're winning. But, Meelan were eating us alive out there yesterday until Esti went out and we turned back to our old self. There was no coincidence. This being said, Conte did well to admit that he had made the wrong decisions at first but we're able to correct them at half time. I do however wish that he finally, once and for all, learn from earlier misstakes. I am of course speaking about Bonucci, Borrinongol and so on.

Problem is that there is this twisted thought that if you're playing with 2 strikers that automatically means that you should score more than having 1 striker. 3-5-2 is more of a defensive strategy than an attacking one.

Also, expecting Lichtsteiner to rule that right flank both offensively and defensively is asking way too much. I love Licht but c'mon.

The problem is that he isn't a wingback. He has superb timing with his runs when he is running behind a RW. I hate Pepe like the plague, but he's good at making runs and pulling the opposing LB with him so Licht has an open area to run into. He's dangerous when he gets in there, but with the 3-5-2 you either need Pirlo to do magic every time he passes the ball by going behind the defense or put it up to Licht's dribbling skills, which aren't his strong side by a mile.

"Rarely has Conte got it wrong this season – he did here, as the formation and the identity of the starting forwards were both issues. However, he still emerges with credit – first for having the grace (and intelligence) to say he knew he made errors. Second, more importantly, for turning things around and picking up a point."

paragraph sums it up really

Yup. I've said it many times before, but Licht is fine as a RB who overlaps when the situation allows it, but he's not a wingback. We simply cannot depend on Esti and Licht to make things happen. Also, the part on playing two strikers is absolutely correct in my opinion. Just look at how we play and how many chances we create with 352 compared to 433.

I think we look better with 4 men at the back and since PDC seems to be doing ok, why not play Chiello-Barza as CBs? Our midfielders do quite a bit better when having a bit more space to work in and we're more dangerous with a trident upfront.

It simply wouldn't make sense to keep this formation now, as the game yesterday showed once again. I hope Conte sees that.
