In short, Agnelli takes all the credit.
Big part of it. He hired them both. Was it luck or intuition it turned out great for us. If it weren't for Conte someone would eventually hit the jackpot. Agnelli's helped us financially and that was crucial. Conte is great coach but I don't like crediting our success to only one man. We are too big club for that. There are many people involved.

He's called the marine. Big factor in the way Lippi's Juve could run tirelessly around the competition.

I remember Vialli saying his physical prep extended his career. Fairly sure a few players said the same (Conte included, I believe they worked together a few years back).

"My Juve, which was called a steamroller, had Marcello Lippi as a coach with shark's teeth and eyes of the tiger."

Ventrone has worked with Conte at Bari and Siena I believe. Conte wanted Ventrone badly when he first joined Juve, but someone in the management was opposed to the idea. He doesn't know why.

Edit: Do you think this is linked with Conte supposedly wanting more control in the club, and choosing coaching staff more freely?

Luck for sure. Agnelli isn't seasoned enough to know that it would turn out the way it did. In fact, I think Agnelli at the time took a horrible decision because after Ferrara and the coaches that followed, Juve were on the verge of languishing in midtable for a while. He went with a fan favourite which took the pressure off a bit incase we failed, but at the time we needed like a Van Gasl or Capello, someone with a guarantee to inject that winning mentality into a club. Only someone who has seen success can do that. A new, young, unproven coach was a horrible idea for where we were. What Conte did though, has been truly remarkable. It's easy to say that we are too big a club for that, but the truth is he has done a phenomenal job and I can't take that away from him. Unbeaten in your first year as a rookie coach, with no modern day star on your team. Hats off.

That, and players too, I get the feeling. We have bought players and spent good amounts on them for them to not have featured in the season. Guys like Elia, Isla and cheaper ones like Anelka, Bendtner. I think there is a slight difference of opinion in the profiles of staff and player's Conte has in mind when implementing his ideas. Also, on a side note I wonder how much Ventrone would've changed his approach to the modern day game from his peak in the 90s. Would be interesting learning.

We're doing fine without Ventrone, though.

There's no saying throwing such an extreme character into the mix will have a positive impact.

Only certain individuals could cope with that kind of shit. If we have a bunch of players who can, then great, I'm all for it, but this training ground-sadist could also disrupt the harmony within the squad.

It's a gamble.
