Football Italia:
Another 48 hours for Conte

Antonio Conte will make a decision on his Juventus future within the next two days, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Coach has admitted that he wants talks with the Turin giants about plans for next term before committing himself to the Old Lady.

Although President Andrea Agnelli has admitted that he held a meeting with Conte last week, more talks are scheduled.

The Gazzetta states that the fresh meeting with Agnelli and director general Beppe Marotta will take place either today or tomorrow.

According to Mediaset, Conte wants to make sure that the Bianconeri will strengthen the squad over the summer.

He’s apparently asking for the arrival of two top players.

They also claim that he wants to have more say on transfer matters, especially when it comes to players who could be sold.

Conte is also, apparently, pushing for the return of fitness Coach Giampiero Ventrone. The latter was part of Marcello Lippi’s staff in Turin, as well as an assistant to Conte at Bari.
Well I think this is one of the more important things Conte is pushing for. And it also explains the players that were bought but never used (Elia, Bendtner, Anelka,...) were more Marotta's interpretations of Conte's demands than what Antonio actually wanted, hence him wanting more say on transfers.
Which I think he's absolutely right about.

He might try, but he'd end up hitting someone standing between himself and the target.

Or someone bigger than him would effortlessly take the gun away from him before he could do anything.

Are all of you guys confident that Conte will stay?

I'm starting to get a really bad feeling about this.

Tuttosport has a "divorzio" between Conte and the club put down as "quasi-impossible". I suppose I got extra nervous when I read that :D

There is no way Conte is leaving and I've not even had 1% doubt. If I saw on tuttosport they had two articles side by side, 'Conte leaving Juve possible' and 'Juve, interest for both Ronaldo and Messi', I would believe the second one more.

if conte gets what he deserves and stays our coach... we are finally going to be in for an awesome summer
Stop the crap. Padoin and giaccherini were handpicked by conte.

Do you like barzagli, vidal, pirlo ? those were all marotta.

Conte getting a say just means transfers will suit his preferred playstyle more.

The past two years, we couldnt afford this way. Now we can.

I can see him staying next season for sure, but beyond that...I really have my doubts.

Yeah, perhaps I'm just getting ahead of myself. That the fear is mostly based on the Conte-era coming to an end sooner than what I'd like. But that he'll stay on for at least one more season does seem very likely, I agree.

I feel more calm now, thanks!

Do not be fooled by some cheap journalists that can sell ony dramatics storys. You can not be afraid of assumptions that are only and only assumptions.
If there was only newspaper-talk, I wouldn't even be bothered, but the reason I'm worried is that those stories are coupled with actual statements by Conte and also by the fact that this uncertainty has been looming for quite some time now. Even before, during and after the scudetto-celebrations, there have been actual quotes creating uncertainty, even by Conte himself. So it's not just something the newspapers have created out of nothing. But they are indeed overdramatizing it, though, and making the most of it.
