That would make absolutely no sense. They all work together, Conte tells them which players he wants, Marotta and Paratici work to secure those. If the demands can't be met, they talk with Conte again and expand the short list. Sources from within the club confirm this.

It's pretty obvious that Conte has big influence within the club. Just look at him cancelling pre-season in US, and despite the club getting $$$ invitation from the sheiks to train in Dubai during the winter, stayed in Italy to make sure the players are rested. All this within one year. I would say that he has influence on the transfers as well.
