The manga is much better imo . First the censoring in the first 3 episode was horrendous (good thing that they caught up to that early), second they have skipped the first part of the manga of the first 2 bugs expeditions which they cover on flashbacks , badly done imo , also the story in general is not explained that good . I personally like the design of the characters and animation in general , also i think the characters are pretty fleshed out and makes you care about them .

I actually saw the first episode of the anime than read all translated manga chapters in one go , i think that if they improve storytelling this anime could become much better .

Btw i know this isn't a manga thread , but since last week naruto ended it's like a whole has been created in me . I actually think that the quality dropped by much as it went on , but still now that it's gone it feels like something is missing
That's the problem with most anime to be honest and that's why I watch the anime first and then I read the manga.

As for Naruto, it should've ended a long time ago. They ruined it with lots of fillers.

Talking about the manga not the anime , as any other long going manga (one piece , bleach) , the anime has a gigantic amount of fillers . I personally don't even watch them . Skip all filler arcs and episodes .

I think the quality just increased with time. I adore the guy who made it and who's still pretty young. He covered a pretty tough to carry story with very strong elements. It's very hard to deal with, or explain, things when it comes to symbolism, yin and yang, good vs evil, war vs peace, friendship and bonds. IMO everything is there represent of all the things. I liked how I can see jinchūriki like talking with inner-self and struggle with the soul while at the end even some parts of religions can be explained with meditation or with the birth of tree of life and mother of all. Story itself is quite complex as well and I like it just like the character development in it. The only thing I didn't like was the ending in a sense how some things happened way too fast so some of the main characters were left untold. But still, such thing is only a minor problem. Was it dragged way too much? Yeah, but only if start reading it now when you have 700 chapters so it looks like a burden. Like now when I see One Piece I'm like oh come on screw that! I never minded that and I wouldn't have any problem if it continued. In fact I was sad when I read the last chapter. What Naruto was/is to me is nothing but a perfect and definitely not for kids (well, they can read, but surely won't understand the essence).

The quality started dropping on part 2 imo . Part one was almost perfect , kishi was exellent in building the world of naruto not so exellent in continuing the story and shaping better characters .

Part 1

- Great characters backstory and character advancment
- Great fights . Fights were more intelligent and more balanced without godly jutsu .
- Great story
- Actions taken by the characters were believable (at least the major part of them)
- Great villain , Orochimaru .
- Great OST (Anime)

Part 2

- Fights start to get progressively worse , with powerups in every corner and lol jutsu
- Some characters didn't have any progress at all , some were forgotten
- Sasuke's character was totally ruined , he was made in some kind of psycopath emo kid
- Except the main guys , by the end of the manga thanks to lol power ups everybody else becomes fodder in comparision to them .
- Had a great starting villain in Orochimaru , changed him with madara as main which wasn't bad , but did it just so kishi could blow him up from nowhere . That was a LOLWHAT ? moment . And than the final villain came with little backstory and with the most cliche power of them all , the power of having all the powers .
- And last but not least , the one who rules them all Talk No Jutsu . I refuse to believe that guys who have been planning for years and years get talked out to being good . And if you want to go with everybody can be saved attitude at least do it with everyone , not just with the ones you like (madara (in the end) / sasuke / nagato / obito) . I didn't see deidara/kakuzu/hidan/ get the talk no jutsu , nope they were just blown to pieces .

By the end naruto fell in conventional shonen tropes . It is a shame and i am dissapointed really , because it had potential to be something much more . That said althrough the drop of quality i still have never found it truly boring and still think it wasn't a bad manga overall (i would give it a 7/10) . I have been a fan of naruto probably since 12 , started reading the manga at 13-14 and it has been one of the constants of my life these past 9 years since I Became a fan . It has always been a weekly encounter , always waking up in a wednesday and reading the new naruto chapter . It saddens me that it's gone , now i have only one piece left and hopefully this one still has a long way to go before it finishes .

It is indeed weird not to read my weekly naruto every wednesday. It has been a part of my routine for so many years. We are getting a short story in the spring though and I am kind of hoping it will develope into Naruto Part 3 due to popular demand. Kind of like DBZ with Goku suddenly being an adult with children. The power levels would have to beon DBZ level too. We still have no idea were Kaguya came from so there is room for expansions.

You are lucky. I wish Berserk could be on the verge of ending. There are three or four chapters every year and Miura (the author) said that he is planning to do 100 + volumes and it's only 38 I think. :sigh:

I read that one too lol , althrough i started reading Berserk around 17 years old i think . It has a dreadful pace , but the art , oh the art , it's on a whole other level . It definetly qualifies as top ten art in manga all time imo . Best i have personally seen . The only other manga that i think has a pace similarly dreadful (and similarly great art too) is Vinland Saga , althrough still not Berserk level .

It has to be seen what it will cover , i am more interested in the grown ups , i don't want it to focus more on the kids . It won't be by kishi through . The one i am waiting for is the movie that comes out on december . Supposedly it will be a romance story , tell how naruto fell in love with hinata and it is settled during the timeskip after kaguya , before naruto became kage . Also kishi had input in it and has said that this movie is canon .

Let's hope so , althrough i have my criticism on him , it's always better if it is in the hands of the original creator

Am I the only faggot that likes Nisekoi?
Most probably :p Still since you seem ok with anime other than typical shounens i would advise you to watch Chihayafuru . It's about karuta (japanese game) and frienship mostly , also there is some shoujo romance .

I've already seen a couple of episodes but I'm not that much of a fag to watch the whole thing lol.

What shows are you currently watching?

 I am not against this type of anime . I am fond of chihayafuru and liked clannad , but i don't like the archtypical shoujo ones .

Right now i am watching Terra formars , Log Horizon (kinda dissapointed with season 2 until now) , Parasyte , Rage of behemouth (don't know if i am finishing it) and fate stay night .

I'm watching Log Horizon as well and yeah the second season is shit compared to the first one. I don't really give a shit about the Ninja girl's problems. I hear only good things about Fate/Stay Night but for some reason I haven't started watching it.

I'd recommend you Akame Ga Kill, Madan no Ou to Vanadis, Akatsuki no Yona and Argevollen (the only Mecha I like).

I have given a thought on starting the first 2 . Log horizon is dragging like hell , it's everything about akatsuki , and it's been 5 episodes of almost no plot advancment and after this killer guy . I'm getting really bored with it .
