I'm going to see this at Vancouver International Film Festival in a couple weeks. I'm pretty excited as it looks amazing, by the same director (Isao Takahata) as Grave of the Fireflies and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Most of the short movies are exclusive to the Studio Ghibli museum. You won't find them on the web.

It's North American release date is today, but I don't think it's getting a wide cinema release, just screenings at a few theatres here and there, over the next month or so. Apparently, the Japanese dvd and blu-ray will be released in December, so it should start turning up on torrent sites over the next couple months.

The manga is much better imo . First the censoring in the first 3 episode was horrendous (good thing that they caught up to that early), second they have skipped the first part of the manga of the first 2 bugs expeditions which they cover on flashbacks , badly done imo , also the story in general is not explained that good . I personally like the design of the characters and animation in general , also i think the characters are pretty fleshed out and makes you care about them .

I actually saw the first episode of the anime than read all translated manga chapters in one go , i think that if they improve storytelling this anime could become much better .

Btw i know this isn't a manga thread , but since last week naruto ended it's like a whole has been created in me . I actually think that the quality dropped by much as it went on , but still now that it's gone it feels like something is missing
