to me anelka is another di vaio. he probably has better finishing, whereas di vaio has better headering. but at the end of the day, we are replacing di vaio with a striker who needs similar services and who rely more on pace.

right now, 8 million pounds could get cannavaro and jankulovski who would seem more important. People criticise s.inzaghi but his record isnt too bad either at lazio. in the CL he showed he was able to perform and score loads of goals. Whats most important is that he is a direct replacement for trezeguet which is important as the team wouldnt have to play a totally different style when trezeguet comes off the pitch.

anelka and di vaio are very similar,i'll give you that.but anelka is the better player imo,has more experience despite his age and is the sort of player who doesn't succumb to pressure at all.

i agree that the money would be better used by getting us canna and janku of course.

Anelka is a quality striker. With his mentality its always going to be a gamble, although he is undoubtedly very promising. Perhaps the spark that our forward line needs.

That is the reason we need him, Trezeguet is the only real striker we have and he has not performed well for a while now.

But both are to good to sit on the bench, and both cant play at the same time. Its cheaper and better with a 100% dfined first choiche - backup situtation.
