Since i already have a laptop, a 10'' tablet would be useless for me.
A 7'' tablet is smth portable enough to carry with and with a big enough screen to see subtitled films and read e-books.
Therefore, i had a flyer and last week i got the nexus 7 as a gift to replace it.
But i am very dissapointed from it honestly.
The lack of flash player is quite a blow, as i cannot longer use streams, to watch films or Juve matches, wherever i am.
The battery although on paper seemed better feels like being almost the half, i never had to charge my tablet before.
The limitations of content on the 8GB make it unusable imo, esp as i prepare it with lots of content before a trip, 1.5GB of maps for the GPS and 2-3GB for a couple of games. The 16GB is better, but it still feels quite the compromise coming from the 32GB.
And the lack of GPRS support is more of a pain that what i have thought, with tethering being more of a desperate effort, rather than half measure compromise.
As for the project butter, that was the biggest let down, i was expectng for the lag to dissapear, but it isnt.
I was surprised to see a brand new tablet, completely void of all the corporation crap and with that tegra 3 lagging on the dead trigger and making typing a frustrating experience, while having 5-7 apps running in the background...
I hope these issues and the battery problem will be fixed with the next updates, which will bring it one step closer to optimization.
( i managed to work around with some tweaks, like erasing some widgets and disabling t9)
But atm at least, Nexus 7, is not quite where it should performance wise, judging by it specs and considering the fact that it was optimised by google herself, again IMHO... but in the long run, i am sure that it will be proved the wisest choice...
