Since i already have a laptop, a 10'' tablet would be useless for me.
A 7'' tablet is smth portable enough to carry with and with a big enough screen to see subtitled films and read e-books.

Therefore, i had a flyer and last week i got the nexus 7 as a gift to replace it.
But i am very dissapointed from it honestly.
The lack of flash player is quite a blow, as i cannot longer use streams, to watch films or Juve matches, wherever i am.
The battery although on paper seemed better feels like being almost the half, i never had to charge my tablet before.

The limitations of content on the 8GB make it unusable imo, esp as i prepare it with lots of content before a trip, 1.5GB of maps for the GPS and 2-3GB for a couple of games. The 16GB is better, but it still feels quite the compromise coming from the 32GB.
And the lack of GPRS support is more of a pain that what i have thought, with tethering being more of a desperate effort, rather than half measure compromise.

As for the project butter, that was the biggest let down, i was expectng for the lag to dissapear, but it isnt.
I was surprised to see a brand new tablet, completely void of all the corporation crap and with that tegra 3 lagging on the dead trigger and making typing a frustrating experience, while having 5-7 apps running in the background...
I hope these issues and the battery problem will be fixed with the next updates, which will bring it one step closer to optimization.
( i managed to work around with some tweaks, like erasing some widgets and disabling t9)

But atm at least, Nexus 7, is not quite where it should performance wise, judging by it specs and considering the fact that it was optimised by google herself, again IMHO... but in the long run, i am sure that it will be proved the wisest choice...

Me too, bro :(

I got way too busy with school and life, though I really do want to continue when I have a bit more time.

I was extremely tempted to do something about the iPhone launch today.

My gfs Galaxy S isnt working well, it has had very bad in call quality since the day we bought it, I tried to fix it through different roms, modems, kernels, but nothing helped, so now I'm inclined to think its a hardware problem.

Anyways, the warranty has expired so I was thinking of maybe getting her a new phone. there are two oiptions, either get her a new phone, something midrange, like the Ace 2 or Galaxy S Advance, or get a better phone for me and give her my O2X. Maybe something like the SII or Galaxy Nexus, the new phones are too expensive for me and I HATE the design of the SIII anyways. I quite like the design of the LG 4X but am wary of their support and updates and it has a locked bootlaoder and no custom ROMS yet.

She likes iPhones (oh, the HORROR), but they are too expensive for us now, as we dont have steady jobs. And the 4S is still around 570 € sim free. Are they INSANE? I told her I'd buy her an iPhone one day but that she'd be left without any technical support from me :D

Anyways, no real point in the post, just sharing :D

And no micro sd also, I'm used to a lot of storage, with an sd card have 24 gb on my phone now.

Although, now that I think of it, the SII has a better camera and also a significantly better battery.

Damn, this is hard :D

Anyways, I'm still relativly happy with my phone, so I might get her an Ace 2/galaxy advance and wait for the next Nexus for me.

Just don't get an iPad, Marty.
After jailbreaking my iPad3 it has become a playground for me. All my media can be streamed between all my devices in my house and I can use the VLC app on it to play media from other devices on it. The freedom+quality+retina screen makes it unbeatable.

I would strongly recommend invest in one and just jailbreak it which takes a click of a button and about 2 mins

I'd have asked you to sell the brand to me for a dollar, if I wasn't too busy myself :D
