Not his best match. Seemed to lack a bit of concentration. But was decent!

He's best friends with Matri, though, so perhaps the sale of Ale influenced him. We know that Pirlo is a very emotional man. They would always sit next to eachother on the Juve bus, share a hotelroom and could always been seen in pics together.

Your asking a 34 year old man to have the motivation, physique and stamina of a 24 year old.

Besides, the regista position in italian football does not demand you to be a power horse, neither is/was Pirlo's style of play ever.

As long as he keeps the smooth pace of play making and improving his quemistry with Pogba and Marchissio I'm happy. It works perfect with Arturo.

Fuck it, I should finally put my psychology degree to good use & save Pirlo from depression.

Would be a mistake to let him leave IMO. Offer him another contract...1 year with an option for another season afterwards. Doesn't matter how old he is, he still has one of the best football brains around.

He has been looking really slow on the ball lately. I would still extend his contract but at the same time I think we should be experimenting with a Pirloless midfield a few times this season.

Have a feeling he might not renew at the end of the season. 1 more year at most imo
We'll probably offer him a pay as you play contract like we did Neddy. He may refuse it, but that's a distinct possibility anyway, with all the Zabi rumours. I don't see the need for a regista, we may just switch formations with a focus on wide play. Let's see. 4231 is the way to go IMO.

His magic is is diminishing, yet i think we should renew his contract a year or two. But get someone else over , hopefully we can attract a young top star rather than Xabi.

I hope Madrid renew Xabi so we are forced to look elsewhere. The truth of the matter is, that Xabi isn't on the same level as Pirlo, and instead of trying to find a clone for his position and forcing that into the system, we should reinvent things, because the personnel at hand could well flourish, albeit in a different way. I'd still go 4231. Even if Conte is stubborn to change the 3 man backline, he must realise even Barzagli is ageing, now is the time to start thinking of possibilities.

Why isn't Xabi Alonso on the same level as Pirlo? :numnum:

I think Pirlo is superior to him but Xabi is far from a bad option to replace Pirlo with imo.
