Well done Marotta

Good signing this.
Well done indeed, fighting off the compition from the Arabs and Russian to sign this marvelous, young, high-potential midfielder? 3 year contact you say for a 32 year old? All you need is a 35 year old injury prone midfielder on 4 million wages.

I'm sure if we sign Messi someone would still moan on this forum.

Most bitched about Matri + Quag look how they turned out. What makes me laugh is how even before a player has played for Juventus he's a flop and a terrible buy then it goes all quiet when he starts performing, fickle bunch. This forum is laughable at times.

I'm going to be honest over here, since I dont think my point could be considered laughable. I wanted Matri when we were linked with Dzeko, he's a good bomber, an allrounder and pretty good. Quag as a replacement for Diego turned out to be great, but not anyone could've known that. So it's mainly luck and the fact that Quag was in the form of his life when he joined us, from a player who only scored a max of 14 goals in his career.

Why I bitch about this transfer? Just like I bitched about Toni transfer, I dont understand it. Marotta's objective was to lower the average age of the squad and lower the wages. If you ask me Marotta does only thing, selling Secco's shit with the likes of Diego, Melo, maybe Sissoko, Amauri, Iaq, Tiago, Almiron and buying his own shit that he rated on high wages. I dont believe it wont make any change at all, we're just running in circles.

this signing does make sense in a lot of senses ... first off, if he sucks we can sell him for a few bucks to some arab club and still get a transfer fee, because he'll still be under contract for two more years next summer, so financially its good.

second he is someone the clueless chickenheads in our team can look up to him on the pitch, when they have no clue what to due ... (see krasic, pepe, de ceglie and the others who obviously have no high football intelligence)

thirdly we did all call for a coach who was proven, who had winning mentallity, who was used to win silverware and now we blast a player who is exaclty that ? proven, used to very high standards and winning stuff.

fourth he can teach some of your newer lads to be calm on the ball, how to receive the ball correctly and not play a chickenhead pass that mishits any target.

fifth point is we would have another player that actually knows how to take set pieces. alex is not always on the pitch and his freekicks from more than 25m are often awful. before we have to let grosso or bonucci take a freekick from 30 metres we have actually someone with shooting technique and power.

welcome andrea =)
