No one spoke of a 70k sits stadioum. Thtas almost double than we have and there is a lot of middle ground till there.

The ideal number for us would be about 50-55k seats. And again, right from the first day, i m reffering to the strategic benefits, not the short terms ones.
As i have been saying all along, in the long run we will regret having only 40k seats, not in the first couple of years.

If the stadioum had 10k seats more, it wouldnt make quite the diffence on the atmosphere. If we can full a 40k stadium, then it means that there is a need for at least 5000seats/game more.
The soft imo, is exceed as slightly as you can the maximum ammount you can get, even with 10 vacant seats, you have 4 ppl standing in every 5 seats, that does not leaves the impression of a half empty stadium, on the contrary...

The stadium we had, due its built had horrible viewing angles, only by rebuilding and removing the track, much more ppl would be attracted back.
By playing beautifull footbal and becoming competitive again, by making it more accesible to families, more ppl would come.
By participating in high levels matches like CL semis, cup semis and title decider matches, more ppl would come.

But now, by default, that ppl CANT come, because there is no place for them... and as we grow and have more fans again, the problem will increase with the interest.
So you know what they will do? They will increase the price for the ticket, first for the good seats, then for the decent ones and inevitably all.
So with less invstment they will make more profit, good for them. But when i will visit Italy and try to watch a derby, it will be much harder and more expensive for me to do it.
Eventually more ppl will be discouraged, so the common fan will be called to pay the extra bill. Juve's fanbase was always the worker common man, who cant afford the EPL high bill though...

And in the long long run, when the other teams build bigger modern stadiums, on par with ours, as architecture and facilities, but much more spacious, they will be able to make more tickets for the same ammounts of tickets.
And create more profits and brute income, all the while keeping the common fan happy for giving him an affordable ticket and a quality to our current stadium.
What we do then? Rebuild a new one, or troll behind in income?
This is when we regret not making it a 50k seater and this is when ppl will understand to what i was reffering to...

When he made that choice AA made it with short vision, considering the current numbers he had at hand, the fog and parking issues, the tarcks, the poor spectacle, lack of prestige/compeititivity/spectacle etc
but Juventus is bigger than this, in the long run we would grow again a modern 70k seater, without track, new parking, facilities, better veiwing angles etc, would be easier in fill in the derbies than the old Delle Alpi and teh average attendance would surely rise in the long run, esp after returning to top.
These elements were not in the equation back then, but they are now and will be more in the future, however the mistake is already made and its irreversable!
Could it be that building a smaller stadium was intended to limit/stop the presence of what the club may consider undesirable types (ultras), in much the same way that has happened in England?

Small(ish) stadium > demand outstrips supply > prices can be raised > undesirable types can't afford to go to the games.

No real basis for me saying this, just musing.

You're wasting your time Red, we've said this hundreds of times to Cronios about the stadium and he just recycles the same old crap every single time.

He deserves all the "did not read lol" gifs he receives.

oh come one red what turin ultra fan doesn't have the money for a match if he wants to make scandal
:boh:

If you look at the average EPL crowd now compared to what it was when the EPL started twenty years ago, you'll find that process happened there.

Doesn't happen overnight, but could be done if the club really wanted to.

Sadly this is true for England. But it doesn't work out as they want us to see it. First of all, not all ultras are violent. Second, a lot of true supporters on low-wage jobs won't make it to the stadium any longer. Others won't come for political reasons (Football for the corporations, not for the people).
And last, but most important, it doesn't solve the general problem. Non-violent supporters, who suddenly cannot afford it anymore will probably turn into violent supporters. Violent supporters won't become quiet and peaceful just because of not making it into the stadium. They will go on rampage somewhere else. On the long run you are enforcing hierachies and preparing riots.

It's certainly not a policy I would approve of.

The essential line in this post is that we did not foresee that the rising would take effect this soon. Juve weren't supposed to win the Scudetto this year - none believed that could happen! The reason for this is many but not least Inters' downfall. In two years time i predict a popularity increase unlike anything we would have expected. If we are truly compatible in CL and if we continue to play fast modern football with young players and keep on supplying the Azzurri with hot italian champions then we are to expect more attendances in the Juventus Stadium!

Don't we have the option to expand capacity at the stadium? I think the club intended that if I'm not mistaken. Also, 41k will have to at the very least become 50k, if we are to ever make the stadium available for the Champions League finals. Juve deserves to have it's stadium showcased in the champions league and not Europa.

You really believe any team in Italy can feel a 60k stadium every game? You think Inter will have a full-house FFS? Atmosphere > numbers.
The ones we compete with do aproach those numbers some times, when they will build new stadiums, they surely will. Heck even Napoli achieves those numbers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadio_San_Paolo
imagine the numbers they will achieve with new stadiums! I believe that they will build smaller stadiums, but not that small though.
Could it be that building a smaller stadium was intended to limit/stop the presence of what the club may consider undesirable types (ultras), in much the same way that has happened in England?

I know you are just musing, since we both know that the ultimate goal is the profit.
This is an interesting perspective as an option for the current situation though, the least we can do, is at least secure, that easy to handle stadium.
AA has actually mentioned that it was a part of our concerns and the ways the gates are made offer more effective crowd control.
The same could be done if the stadium was a 5ok seat though. At any case, it doesnt seem to be working...as we have seen with all those fines we are getting...
and its sad as it is, if we made a 10k seat compromise only for that, it is a failure of epic proportions...
You're wasting your time Red, we've said this hundreds of times to Cronios about the stadium and he just recycles the same old crap every single time.

o, the bias, like i m the one who cant reason with arguments, not the ones who are only capable of mockery one liners without any content and choose brain dead childish gifs to represent them.
Any yet here you are again in yet another desperate effort to defame me!! Why all the hate?

yes me too and i m hoping its true, (not easily done though) but they will do it after the tickets are inflated sky high, i m sure of it!
A 45-50k seater being able to expand in 50-60k seater would be perfect imo.
My only concern with that would be the visibility for the fans in the third tier if that were to happen.

JS has a steep slope, and looking at the configurations of the stadium in its current state, it doesn't look as if it can be expanded outwards without compromising the original footprint. It would have to be expanded upwards, and that in and of itslef could lead to the seats being somewhat less than desirable.

Then, I think you would have to factor in the costs to expand the stadium against the revenue being generated by those seats, and how look it would take Juve to recoup the costs.

I think we made a mistake when analysing the big picture before building the stadium. Our management wanted to maximize the effect of the stadium by building one that will suit the average attendance. But now, that we have the statistics from last season it's clear they have miscalculated something. And what went wrong was only partially considering the effect of brand NEW stadium, not to mention the first of it's type in Italy. We sold out every single Seria A match (or almost sold out) and that just shows the fans interest. My point is let's say we have 55 000 seated stadium and we play Pescara - the attendance may be 45k(ok?) and that will be the matter playing with bottom table/mid table teams, but in CL(at least 6 games 55k sold out) , when playing the likes of Milan, Inter, Napoli, Lazio, Roma, Fiorentina, Udinese(7x2=14) all those games will be sold out(considering with recent success interest only raises). That makes at least 20 sold out games in a 55k seated stadium, i think it's worth it...
