there is that odd time DP goes out wide and sends in a good cross but that doesn't happen enough for us to be a threat down that side. Seeing this you would think raneri might opt to put DP on the left flank in a trident with trez and iaquinta but for some reason he sticks with the 4-4-2. Unless he starts tiago I don't see any reason as to why we should field a 4-4-2.
Yeah, exactly. Del Piero always puts in good crosses but he's usually in the box nowadays. The trident with Del Piero, Trezeguet, and Camoranesi was what I've wanted since Ranieri took the position, and I wouldn't mind having Iaquinta in there instead allowing Del Piero more freedom. When we have used the 4-3-3 in the past four years, it has worked. When Capello used it we won, and when Ranieri has fielded the 4-3-3 we have looked damn good going forward.

But yesterday was a good judge to the methods of Ranieri. We were down 1-0 at halftime and he brought on a right-winger stricken with injury instead of a striker who would cause more havoc up top. He's a 4-4-2 lover.

Mancini can play both wings. And yes, he is better than Camoranesi now. Perhaps not a couple years ago though.
Well I`m a big fan of Mancini he has great pace and dribbling skills and he knows how to attack and defend but as far as it goes to creating Camoranesi puts him in his pocket therefore I`d rather us have Camoranesi than Mancini...
BUT it would be really nice to have both!

He is the only realistic target, ABLE to become Neddy's heir in my eyes:

Roma make nice with Mancini
Saturday 12 January, 2008

Roma director of sport Daniele Pradé concedes there are contract problems with Amantino Mancini, but that doesn’t mean he will be sold to Manchester City.

This week Sven Goran Eriksson confirmed he wanted to sign the Brazilian talent, who is struggling to renew his contract with the capital club.

Mancini himself spoke out on the situation on Friday, assuring fans he wanted to remain with the Giallorossi, and now Pradé has followed suit.

“The meeting with his agent, Gilmar Veloz, has not been set,” he told Sky Italia television.

“The problem with Mancini is purely a contractual one where each party is trying to look after their own interests.

“The problem will never be with the player, it is purely a professional negotiation with his agent. Roma look after their own interests, the player does the same, that is all there is to it.”

Mancini and Roma have been at pains to point out that there is no anger, recrimination or ill feeling between them in these talks.

The Brazilian had been pictured irritated and upset at his repeated substitutions by Coach Luciano Spalletti, while a section of the fans have turned on him after reported negotiations for a switch to Inter or Juventus.

Although neither has ruled out a move away from Roma – with Manchester City very eager to snap him up – both parties have now come out publicly to assure they are trying to work out a renewal that will keep them together.

This is the player we need to buy, the true Neddy heir, he is very experienced, he is very talented, he still has a lot to give, he has adapted to serie A, his contract is about to expire and we will weaken one of our direct opponents. The perfect transfer in my eyes, we really really need him and we can be sure he will perform right away.
If NOOB Secco, EVER, manages, to make such a "Moggi" transfer, just one, i will respect him forever...and stop bashing him!

he doesnt want to sign a new contract with Roma so it is a possibility, only Secco needs to pull this one good...

ManCity also wants him really bad, if i could choose as a player to go to Juve or ManCity i would go to Juve...

Oh come on, he is surely not "way better".Mancini is strong, fast, with great technique and dribbling and he scores often. What more do you want?
Camo is perhaps the better crosser but this doesn't make him a way better player

Point is that Mancini and Camo are both world class players, thats what we really need if we are planning to use 2 DMs like Zanetti and Sissoko and let all the creative work to our wingers...
