1968 was a long time ago Andy, maybe they didnt start out too good, but nowadays they are in the top 5 clubs in the world, and i dont see that changing for a very long while, if ever.
But you said they were always good. ;)

And hopefully you're wrong and their team will cease to exist.

:agree:

Had a great team prior to the Munich Air Disaser, rebuilt to be good from about 66-70, then they let the team get old and they were shit again.

Only since about 92 had the been consistently very good.
Indeed. People act like they're the biggest team ever and were always great, but it's only been since 1992. Goes to show you how wonderful gloryhunters are who don't even know their own side's history.

So Inter gets the premium player (Mancini) and we get their leftovers (Stankovic),
i wonder how much of Mancini's transfer, will we indirectly fund, to get Stankovic...

TBH I think Stankovic is better than Mancini. More versatile, more consistent, more experienced. Had a bad season, Mourinho doesn't like him, thus we can get him for peanuts. And Inter leftovers aren't that bad: Canna, C. Zanetti.

Hope so, wouldn't want to see us spending too much on him. There are other positions we need to think about.

I disagree, i think Mancini is really overrated. Mancini was playing for years as full back, so he can defend much beter than Stankovic and he can cover all lateral positions, his effectiveness at this sides make him an ideal winger, as a winger he is better than Stankovic because of his great pace, Sissoko, Marchisio, Alonso, Zanetti and Giovinco gives us plenty of options at the center, but we lack alt reliable solutions to Neddy and Camp.
Stankovic is not a consistency rock either, he isnt motivated anymore, he was won so many titles and he is growing older, not to mention his attitude issues.
Mancini is younger, he can use his pace and penetrations for many years to come, we most only help him to find hid focus/concentration and motivate him enough, he had a bad year because he knows, he is leaving!
ATM and esp if we sign Alonso, we need Mancini more than we need Stankovic.
They are both versatile player but Mancini would be the right choice for Nedy's heir,
Stankovic may or may not return to his good days, they are both experienced and versatile players, Mancini is younger and more adapted to our needs!
