Roma make nice with Mancini

Roma director of sport Daniele Pradé concedes there are contract problems with Amantino Mancini, but that doesn’t mean he will be sold to Manchester City.
This week Sven Goran Eriksson confirmed he wanted to sign the Brazilian talent, who is struggling to renew his contract with the capital club.
Mancini himself spoke out on the situation on Friday, assuring fans he wanted to remain with the Giallorossi, and now Pradé has followed suit.
“The meeting with his agent, Gilmar Veloz, has not been set,” he told Sky Italia television.
“The problem with Mancini is purely a contractual one where each party is trying to look after their own interests.
“The problem will never be with the player, it is purely a professional negotiation with his agent. Roma look after their own interests, the player does the same, that is all there is to it.”
Mancini and Roma have been at pains to point out that there is no anger, recrimination or ill feeling between them in these talks.
The Brazilian had been pictured irritated and upset at his repeated substitutions by Coach Luciano Spalletti, while a section of the fans have turned on him after reported negotiations for a switch to Inter or Juventus.
Although neither has ruled out a move away from Roma – with Manchester City very eager to snap him up – both parties have now come out publicly to assure they are trying to work out a renewal that will keep them together.
