Alex's so called "mistake" against West Brom was no mistake at all. Did you guys see the pass that he was supposed to receive? That was the true error. The attempted pass to Alex was instead a direct pass to the West Brom player, and it left Alex with a huge disadvantage, which the West Brom player took advantage of and scored.

Some may argue that Alex should have been more alert to the pass, but the way I see it, the pass had way too much power.
:agree:

He should've dealt with it better. Plus, he was sooo slow chasing the striker.
Very tough for a defender once he is wrong side of the attacker.

If Alex had tried to muscle him from behind, Long would have gone down and it would have had to be a red card.

The only point Alex could really have done more would have been to react slightly faster to the initial bad pass.

There was a mixture of things; the bad pass which he could have anticipated better, the lucky deflection for Long, Alex not putting his body across better when they were side by side, and then the stumble when coming together which means it is over. Without the stumble he could probably counter all the rest, at least force Long wide.

Alex is a very good player and we should be happy if we sign him we aren't going to get anyone better for defense this summer. Too much talk about what happened yesterday forget about it everyone's just looking into it too much even the greatest players make mistakes, his head was somewhere else, he recieved a horrible pass that left him in a situation were he might of been sent off so he could just fly in with a tacklle (he was also unlucky to lose his footing) and Shane Long done really well to finish the move... end of discussion.

I want Alex too, but as I said before.. it's a bit of a concern that Chelsea supports say he makes many mistakes :( and would rather Luiz start ahead of him.

he's a very good player, and is quite good on the ball. If we sign him we wont have the "Bonucci long balls" every 10 minutes so its a thumbs up in my books. I've always liked him, he's got a few years left in him and I think the slower paced serie a will suit him better.

And his free kicks :p

Alex is slow, but our second opition Lugano is slower.
I didn't point for his lack of pace in that goal. I just pointed out for his slow reaction/decision, which seemed kinda bad to me.

For real? In my books, David Luiz makes a lot of nonsense stuff, so I don't even want to imagine Alex... that can't obviously be the real reason, Luiz has twice the quality Alex has, and that's why Chelsea fans want Luiz first. Period.

I understand. However, it must be taken into consideration that Chelsea-supporters are retards.

They are? That makes them members of a large group.
I was kidding, but, I suppose I will never be able to take that club seriously. Having seen them in the pre-Ken Bates era etc. It's just a silly, silly club, and so many of their post-Abramovich supporters are fickle gloryhunters who have no clue of football. They remind me a little bit of Inter. Upper class club, blue colors, mafioso owner, lack of tradition. The works.
