We had to overpay for matri, dont be stupid about that.
And juventus indeed simply has players we bought at their peak, with nice contracts.
Thing is, the teams who could take them off our hands are italian, and they dont got the money

As most of the non-selling big clubs, we sell our players for less than what we paid.
This goes since the time I started supporting Juve. We always sold our players for less than what we paid. Cases like Zidane are different. In fact, even today we can sell our stars for much more than what we paid (Vidal for example), but big teams rarely sell their stars.
Don't look at it as losing money. We won't lose money if we sell Buffon for 25m eur today, after buying him for almost 50. Juve are a big club, we use our players in their prime, and then get rid of them when we don't need them. It's normal that a 26 year old Matri was more expensive than a 29 year old Matri.
Cron, criticize where there is room for criticizing. Stick to Felipe Melo or Martinez. Here, in Matri's case, you just look foolish.

We sacrificed performance and millions for that and we ares still paying a price for those strategical mistakes.
And i dont accpet that MAtri is finished, why is he finished? He was not that terrible with us, once upon a team smaller serie A teams, were giving battles for our subs and Matri did ok when he was our starter.
We just made the next step in quality, because we are Juventus and can afford, it doesnt means that the player is bad.
And not bad at every field, he may not suit our needs for goal scoaring, but at reast he is pretty good. He is not at any case a 8-12mil player.
We are just very bad negotiators, who (almost) always overpay when they buy and sell out when they sell...
And Quaq is a proven quality in serie A and not that old, they just know that they can take such players from us on cheap, because this is what we have been doing in the past 7 years, to say the least. (like they also now that we overpay, if we were in need for a matri now, they would still ask more than 15mil from us)
I would really like to see this change. And i hold Conte partially resposnible for this as well, he ought to use MAtri just a bid more, let him shine a bit, have his moment, show he still holds some value, just like he did with Giaccherini and this allowed us to sell him for a nice sum!

Compare that with Di Natale or Cavani from my previous posts. Maby me and you have different opinios about what is "Juventus calibre". If you want to be a starting striker in Juventus you should be able to score +20 goals a season. Like Trezeguet did, if not then maby the player have different qualitys, and plays as a seconda punta. Del Piero diden't score +20 goals every season, but he did so much more with his vision,skills,passing. Can Matri do that?
im doubtful. He can't even controll his first touch so im not so optimistic . So what is left? Goals, do he score alot? Not IMO, maby you think so.

Completely unproven and not what we needed should have come in a swap deal plus some cash.
Paying 15.5 mil in cash, on top of giving a player as well, was way out of line.
What Matri did in his carrier to worth that much? When Milan got Cassano nearly for free and Fiorentina fot Rossi for 10mil?
The ammount we have spent on him was never justified.
I was very critic about it and thats why i insisted with my ItalJuve fail avatar for more than a year.
Many more such disaster followed and after our consecutive failures, we now have to suffer extra loses, from those past mistakes.

But MAtri is not finished, he is still young to play at least 5 years in serie A level.

When a players proves his worthy in a higher level, he ussually doesnt lose value, on the contrary!

But our priority in my opinion still stands on the finishing department, ever since we were getting Amauri, for similar reasons, i insist on the same argument.
We need smth else that we do have, but we should not underrate our players who were never meant to be used as such.
It is not MAtri's fault that he is not a prolific finisher, he never was and it was our mistake to sign him as such.
But we should not consider him kak, just because he is not what he need, he is a good forward who can help a team of our level, in many other ways.
Some other teams may have a need for such a player.
And we are not the only team with nationalistic fans.

Osvaldo yes, and Gilardino,Pazzini,Balotelli,Giovinco,Di Natale,El Sharrawy,Rossi,Cassano have I missed someone? Probably Destro, Insigne to. All players Prandelli picks before Matri, Rossi and Cassano have had some injury problems, but im sure they will get their chance if they are injury free and can play with their clubs. Matri is not top 10 strikers in Italian national team but is Juventus calibre .
