Getting rid of Matri and Quag is all good really. We can net (hopefully) about €22M, which is not a bad return at all on two players who are cleaely surplus to requirements.

My only issue is us wasting the money we get from them on hacks like Biabiany and Ibarbo. And I'm sorry, but a young player like Boakye needs regular and consistent playing time, not sitting on the bench and barely featuring (like Marrone past two seasons) Young players need to play as much as they can to develop properly, and I just can't see Boakye or any other young striker getting them with us next season.

Im a bit puzzled as to the direction Conte and board are going with this.
The likes of Biabiany and Ibarbo could be meant for the right wing on 433, something Quag or Matri couldn't offer. I rather see Boakye as a 5th forward with us next season than see us spend money on another Bendtner or Anelka, those young forwards we loan out to endless teams pass and go, it's time we tried a different approach.

And who the fuck are Napoli to spend 12m on a substitute?

Compare that with Di Natale or Cavani from my previous posts. Maby me and you have different opinios about what is "Juventus calibre". If you want to be a starting striker in Juventus you should be able to score +20 goals a season. Like Trezeguet did, if not then maby the player have different qualitys, and plays as a seconda punta. Del Piero diden't score +20 goals every season, but he did so much more with his vision, skills, passing. Can Matri do that? :D im doubtful. He can't even controll his first touch so im not so optimistic :D. So what is left? Goals, do he score alot? Not IMO, maby you think so.
these are his career stats at Juve, I asked for a specific period when he was the numero uno.

am sure those numbers will be way better.

until Conte inexplicably benched him Matri was leading the line very well, the 4-3-3 was working beautifully.

I still don't think Ibarbo or Biabiany should be players we are looking for to play as RW in a 4-3-3.

If we're selling Matri and Quags to raise money for a RW, make it a quality player. Nani fits the bill to a tee.
They do seem to me like younger and more athletic versions of Simone Pepe, Conte likes them I bet. :p

We only played 2 or 3 games (at most) with the 4-4-2 IIRC. I think Catania (Krasic equaliser game) was when we first tried a 4-3-3 and then against Bbilan was the 4-1-4-1. Conte was a lot more tactically experimental back then, obviously trying to find the best solution or his playing personnel.

Well if our ambition is that low, to play a striker as our "numero uno" who doesen't have a good scoring record, and is not even close to be in the national team, but sure if we played him more, maby he would be on the bench, but I doubt it. As a Juventus fan I have been spoiled by seeing players like Trez,Del Piero, Ibra,Baggio, as our "numero uno" I will not settle with Matri, if you could then it's up to you. Prandelli could pick about 10 attackers before this guy, it says something about Matri. He is a nice guy and is easy to like. But to go from a deadly Trez to Matri as our numero uno. Nah then we could settle with Marrone as Pirlos replacement, and even make Peluso our starting CB. If this is our ambition.

Lucky for me the club and Conte want's it another way, the have understood that our attack was lacking something. Tevez and Llorente in, Matri and probably Quagliarella out.

The way you see Matri clubs should be all over him. Milan,Napoli, want's him yes, but in the first hand as a sub player. Napoli need a benchplayer for Higuain, and Milan have injuries, Balotelli is their main striker (in my world) in your world maby Matri will become numero uno and bench him, numero uno in Juventus, numero 10-15 in Italian national team :boh:

and that is why Prandelli's Italy has no good striker other than Balotelli.

it may sound ridiculous now but Matri was being touted as the Trezeguet heir, all that talk about 'writing a chapter in Juve's history'...remember?

when he was given confidence and played with continuity he delivered the goods, nobody can deny that.

Im not sure if I agree, but that includes Matri? Finally you admit that he isen't a class player.

Of the strikers called upp lately yeah Balotelli is the best, still Di Natale is great. Yeah I agree Italy hasen't have a great striking force, a good argument for Matri :D ? 10-15 choice striker in a national team that hasen't have a great attack. Im done trying to discuss this. The numbers of his scoring is there, you even pick months to make him better. The numbers are there, If I could pick months I could even make Carrol or Heskey great, sure they have their months, but when you look at the whole picture you see it clearly, not a match, not a month, not period of months.

But let's agree that me and obviously Conte,Prandelli doesen't rate him as a big/important player. We can maby discuss this in the rookie thread later :)
