maaaaaaaaaaaaaan this is amazing!!!!! my national team wins the african nations cup for the 6th time and my beloved juventus change a 1-0 defeat against udinese to finish off victorious 2-1 what more can i ask for as a football fan and most importantly as a die hard juventus fan.

as expected cameroon where very strong compared to there 4-2 loss in the group stage they were dangerous and controlled large periods of the game but never capatalized on this and its cos egypts players followed the iinstructions issued to them by the manager and coaching staff. a very very hard fought game and def a well deserved victory.

i wont lie and say i expected this if u go back to the first few pages u will see that my nominess for the winner was ghana, ivory coast, cameroon, and then egypt. this was unexpected by all means even by the most optimitic person in egypt. the person who thought egypt could surprise us was no one else but bozi even though he wanted a ghana vs ivory coast final like every one but he was the one who tol dme egypt could turn this around.

its just amazing what footie does to people. every one is in the street holding an egyptain flag and singing. women, men, kids, and girls every one is over the moon. this will always be remembered as one of the rare times that the entire arab world forgets about conflicts and nationality and actually supports an entire nation. egypt was not playing just for egypt tonight it was for tunisa, moroco, lebanon, syria, palestine, saudi, kuwait....etc

in the stadium u can clearly see the lebanese, and saudi's all supporting egypt its sth honestly u dont see every day. in paris its upside down with celebrations along with all the regions near egypt, its sth that is just amazing how footie unites people!!

finally but never the leats i want to thank each and every one of u for all the support and interest u have put in this thread even though i have not created or started it but its def one of the best threads on the forum thanks to every one. thank u for supporting egypt thru this. i think i owe salvatore a speciual thanks as he was theone who always posted information about the group standings for each single group and every single game in each stage. thank u sal.

Too bad Egypt won it. Now I have to hear about it all week and all night and alll day about how Egypt is so great. So Congrats Egypt.
hear about it from who donnanocerino?? i am guessing the egyptains who live in new york. well i will be honest ok it was a very hard tournment and its only normal that we never forget it, besides egypt has always been under rated in africa and to be even more honest look at the teams egypt won. ivory coast has players of a total value of 120million euros where as nearly the entire egypt squad plays in the local league apart from 3 players. i,e the combined value of the 23 egyptain players is barely enough to make out the vlaue of a player like eto for example ( in money )

another thing is egypt has always been critized for wining the tournment when played on egyptain soil but this is different unlike 2006 for example. finally but not least now egypt is the record holder of 6 times and thats a historical figure. i would agree with u that it would be pain in the ass if we bragged about it when we dont deserve wining it but if u have been following this tournement from the begining u will realize that egypt deserved this victory. any way i hope my fellow egyptains dont give u a hard time with the celebrations :p i just thought i would explain it to u in detail so u understand why all of this excitement surrounding our win.
