I think in terms of width, italians are never really that effective, thus Quaresma would be great as imho he is of the nigh on identical replica of C.ronaldo, whom imho is the best player around at the moment. Ribery would be nice, but also expensive and a huge risk. Plus im sure a certain Turk...

I think he will, DP will not last forever, Trez is a wall, Zala/Boji will not be here, i think Palla will be the third/fourth striker next season, getting even more playing time. Im not yet to be conviced that Paro is world class material. He is however a good squad player.

Paro doesnt look as good as people on this form make him out to be. Balza plays more games than a back would. Palla shouldnt be loaned as he will never come back imho. Marchisio should to get him some experience as that he hasnt had yet. Marchionni will play more the fitter he gets.

Indeed we do need to ensure more Italians are signed up as its of great value to a clubs prestige and support that we have Italians forming the core of the team, botht for us and the Azzurri. However we do have the young Italian talent in Cristico, Balza, Palla, Paro, Marchio.

If we sign him great, if we dont even better.....Cristi might actually get a decent crack at first team football.

I think your sumary makes your arguement much clearer. Barzagli is indeed the best out there in terms of youth and potential yet experience. But as you argued i wouldnt spend more than 15million. The italians were the best defender, but the current crop really isnt much cop in comparison to...
