Live Mercato Deadline Day - AM Meltdown Edition

Having money is one thing. There being the right players to spent it on is another matter entirely. I struggle to see what top trequartista signing Juve could have made, so I've no issue with them signing Hernanes and Cuadrado and waiting to see if something good comes up in the future.

Anyone daft enough to 'expect' Isco only has themselves to blame for being disappointed.

    Hernanes is the trequartista signing.

:boh: It's basically a squad that has been build for 4-3-1-2. But Juve couldn't resist signing Cuadrado when he became available, so he is an extra player and I don't know how he'll be used.

    [Serie A] Roma - JUVENTUS (August 30th, 2015)

Well that was very weak from Juve. Was reminiscent of the Bayern games at times with Juve getting pushed back by an aggressive press an not being able to find an answer to it. Juve's central defenders did well to keep the game alive for as long as they did, but there are limits as to how...

It could if they aren't deployed correctly. If Pogba retains his current spot, which means he is mainly on the left half of the pitch, I'd pobably look for Hernanes to slightly favour the right side.

Wouldn't disagree with you. I prefer him in central midfield rather than as a true trequartista. His best seasons came when playing in a midfield three at Lazio. Ledesma was regista and Hernanes and someone else played in the centre with Candreva and Lulic wide.

Live Mercato Deadline Day - AM Meltdown Edition

Think Inter need/want to sell a player or two today, so as long as no-one comes in with good offers for their other players (D'Ambrosio, Juan Jesus, Ranocchia), Juve should be safe. Is Guarin going to be Inter's most technically gifted midfielder this season? They could be tough to watch.

Live Mercato Deadline Day - AM Meltdown Edition

In Serie A there are very few games where Juve's trequartista will get the chance to use his pace. In the CL games, I think there could be a strong argument for going with Pereyra as there will be more chances to break and use pace.

Live Mercato Deadline Day - AM Meltdown Edition

I like the look of the Hernanes deal. Sure, he's not the world-beater folk were hoping for, but it's a solid signing. I certainly feel ~11m for Hernanes is a better bet than ~32m for Draxler. Hernanes can be useful for a few years in a few different roles and his transfer fee and wages...

Live Mercato Deadline Day - AM Meltdown Edition

Hard to say. But his style suits this Juve more. Pereyra is primarily a dribbling player, rather than one with great vision and passing. Hernanes is more static, but technically excellent. Given the forwards and midfielders Juve have, I think Hernanes fits better as trequartista in...
