Ok, i think i can argue with this but i won't for the time being.

I just wanted to ask this.... (let me find an english translation first)......

Ok, here it is:

Q10: 37 And this Qur'an is not such as could ever be invented in despite of Allah; but it is a confirmation of that which was before it and an exposition of that which is decreed for mankind - Therein is no doubt - from the Lord of the Worlds.

If i understand correctly, it's said here that the Qur'an isn't invented, and there is no doubt it's from God.

So now we have a challenge and the non-believers are asked to produce an alternative qur'an:
Q52: 33,34 “Or do they say, ‘He has invented it?’ Nay, but they do not believe. Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly.”

But previously the non-believers were asked to produce only 10 suras
Q11:13,14 “Or do they say, ‘He has forged it’? Say: ‘Then bring you ten suras the like of it, forged; and call upon whom you are able, apart from God, if you speak truly.’

And little before that they were asked to produce only one similar sura to prove that they can do better
Q10:38 " Or they say : He has forged it ? Say: Then bring a sura like it, and call (for help) besides Allah, if you are truthful".

What i wondered is if you think that a man can not produce even a sura like sura 108 which contains 25 words and goes like this :
Q108:1 Yes, We have given you Abundance;

Q108:2 So pray to your Lord, and sacrifice.

Q108: 3 Yes, it is the insulter (and not you) who is without posterity.

Well yes but that doesn't mean that you won't have to refer to a Hadith or Sunna to better understand something. Nor does it mean that you'll fully understand it after reading it one time. There's just so much to absorb and fully understand. It's a guide for humanity and it addresses different things one runs into in life.

For instance, I listen to music all the time and I've heard certain songs a gazillion times but I've never really paid attention to the words. Then, if I find myself in a situation (such as falling in love) the words of the song spring out at me like never before. I hope that makes sense.
Yes, this i can accept.

Oh, and i want to ask this......
Is the Qur'an composed by an all-knowing, all-powerful God and is it intended for all mankind for all time? If it is, then it should display an awareness of all the earth, of all its people, of their past and of their future, right ?

Well, then i seriously find it strange why is it limited to events contemporary with its origin and to the people, flora and fauna of the Arabian peninsula?

If it isn't intended for all mankind, then nevermind.

I have like million more questions but it's too late. If you're willing i can ask these questions tomorrow.

are you sure it's not allowed in certain circumstances.....i.e. rape, misinterpretation?
Never allowed, under any circumstances.
by the way burke, in regard to the big bang theory, isn't that a 'theory' one of many possible explainations in the universe? i'm not an expert on this so i can't give too much of a judgement, but surely it's quite hard to say for sure that the universe was created this way, fair enough yes a theory, but 100% certain?
Unlike the facts about being created out of ribs and shit....

I have 2 more questions

1.
Sura2, verse 256 - In the Bosnian translation it says that there is no forcing to convert to Islam. No forcing in accepting the religion. Meaning it’s a free choice. In the English translation it says: “There is no compulsion in religion”, which is the same thing.
Well, at least here I can claim that this isn’t true. Directly or indirectly (the taxes for the non-Muslims), people were forced to accept Islam.

But then we read something else:
Sura 29, verse 46, “Dispute you not, unless in kindliest sort, with the people of the Book and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our God and your God is One, and unto Him we surrender.

What made God change his mind? First he tells the followers that there should be no compulsion in religion and then there was to be the most absolute compulsion.

Similar differences can be seen on at least 10 places in the Qur’an. First the prophet gives excellent advices, says all the right words, and then he becomes more authorative.

Now, an infidel like myself could assume that something has changed during the time when the second and 29th suras were written, that the prophet’s growing power at Medina lead him on to the bold assumption of a position he would not have taken in the earlier days when he was in Mecca. This would imply that the Qur’an has a history and did not fall straight out of the sky. Or maybe even that two different people wrote these suras.

But I’d like to hear Your thoughts about this.
-----------------------
2. Why do i read that the Qur'an is a complete revelation when it's obviously incomplete and some of the islamic laws do not appear in it?*

*The hadiths, which are considered to contain God’s words, and give us some of the islamic laws.
How can we find some important divine pronouncements outside the Qur'an?

Oh, and the change of style. I felt like reading many different books. It switches from poetry to prose, from good poetry to bad prose, from good prose to bad poetry.
I find it hard to accept that certain suras weren't writen by different people.

Oops, 3 posts in a row.

if anybody has questions about Islam and Quran he should make contact with Imams and Alims.Ordinary people can make mistake when they are answering questions.

Even though Muslims are honest about informing people about Islam and Quran they should leave this job to the Islamic scholars. And if people are honest about their curiosity about Islam,i am sure they will find a way to reach their answers.

@Non-Muslim members. There is no unanswered(historical,scientific,philosophical..) questions in Islam.if you can't find your answers, that's because you are searching it in wrong place.Your muslim friends can tell you Basic Islamic belief, five pillars ... but you should find an Alim or Imam for your other questions.

Yes, that won't hurt.
I'd check it first with professors of islamic studies, though. The answers i will get from an Imam will probably be too confusing.

P.S: But don't you guys also ask yourself these or similar questions when you read the Qur'an?

I am coming from an Islamic country and i live with muslims since i was baby.I have no unanswered question in my mind.

But your hesitation is understandable.like i said before you should discuss with trustworthy, well informed islamic scholars, face to face.(i don't know how many of them are there? They are rarely even in here)

Maybe you don't ask enough questions? I have been asking questions about religion all my life and I'm nowhere near the point where I have all the answers.
or maybe he is taught by the religion to not ask "those question" or doubt about anything? you know he might go to hell for that..
