I fail to see how that makes them lame, 'roid.
i equate it to a song.

when a new song comes out and its getting a lil buzz on the streets and only a handful of folks know about it. but then it blows up and everyone and their mother is jamming to it and every station you turn to is playing the song and every douche on the street has it as their ringtone,etc..

and after a while it becomes lame and ultimately played out

"C'est l'histoire d'un homme qui tombe d'un building de 50 étages, et qui au fur et à mesure de sa chute se répète sans cesse pour se rassurer :
Jusqu'ici, tout va bien... Jusqu'ici, tout va bien... Jusqu'ici, tout va bien...
Mais le plus important c'est pas la chute... C'est l'atterrissage"

[La Haine]

But that doesn't mean that the song or movie isn't great.

It just gets a bit dull after a while.

Nice one.

I also love the ending voice-over in Goodfellas, but I think you can only appreciate it if you've seen the whole movie.

Fair enough.

It is a favourite movie quotes thread, though, so it is hardly unexpected or unreasonable that there will be the odd quote from one of the best films ever.

Al Pacino - Carlito's Way

Carlito: You a gangster now. You can't learn it at school... you can't have a late start

Benny Blanco: I don't know, but there may be some mis-fuckin'-understanding, I don't know man, but maybe you don't remember me, my name is Benny...

Carlito: Maybe I don't give a shit! Maybe I don't remember the last time I blew my nose either.

Carlito: Who the fuck are you? I should remember you? What, you think you like me? You ain't like me motherfucker, you a punk. I've been with made people, connected people. Who've you been with? Chain snatching, jive-ass, maricon motherfuckers. Why don't you get out of here and go snatch a purse.

My father used to say: "The first time someone calls you a horse you punch him on the nose, the second time someone calls you a horse you call him a jerk but the third time someone calls you a horse, well then perhaps it's time to go shopping for a saddle."

    Lucky Number Slevin.
