Well then, why are you always on his case? As long as he's being praised, even if according to you more than he deserves, in a thread that is named after him, then so be it. Let it slide.

When others infringe on another player that you think is better than Del Piero, then counter that with arguments...not just jokes, and belittling statements about Del Piero denying him what he fully deserves.

I, for one, enjoy seeing him play. I do so more than I enjoy watching anyone else in the world. That's me. Watching Juventus play is an enjoyment, but a Juve with Del Piero is 5 times as good to me. So yes, whenever he does something fancy or dribbles past someone, I like to see it over and over again. That's just me and my taste in football (me and many many others), am I doing anything wrong?

all i see is pain and lost balls

Best defences of the world? You mean against Siena?

Sure the technical gesture is beautiful but you can't compare it to the ones done by Mancini and *forgot-his-name-it's-1am!* the Venezia striker. Those were really great backheels!

Because you are one sided when it comes to Alex. When he has a bad game ill admit it, but when he has a good game you always go oh lets not forget that all the other players were included. But when alex plays bad he should be out of Juve not blaming other players as well. Go fly a kite bessie

DP is renowned for chocking and he rarely had a good game against a big team.

And actually it's the other way round./...us juve fans do say when DP played well, but unfortuantely DP fans don't admit their god has done wrong.

Lets not forget every player is entitled for bad games. Where was Sheva vs. Liverpool in the champs leagu final when he had two opportunities in the same play to put the game away

the only thing more that could do is take the ball in his hands and walk with it past the goal line

He got the rebound and could have slotted it to the side He played pure rubbish that game yet no one says nething, but when del Piero doesnt hit a shot he is the worst italian out there

buddy, it was the 128th minute of the champions league final, and even if what you say its true, Sheva most of the times makes up for his mistakes

I don't mind statistics as long as they produce a crystal clear picture. Average ratings do that.

Please do mention all the good games.

Italian Serie A MVP? Says who?!?!?!
Ajax, Sampdoria, Palermo, Tel Aviv, Bayern, Siena, Roma, Roma 2nd game, Bayern also, Fiorentina 1st game, Lecce, Maccabi again, Sampdoria again , Livorno, Parma, Parma 2nd game, Atalanta, Siena, Reggina, Fiorentina 2nd, Milan, Cagliari...

21 games so Far I remmber. You seem to forget pretty fast Glenn:cheesy:

I may have used the wrong expression, not Mvp, My bad, Most Decisive Player.

Don't be a moron Statistics also gives a clear picture, If not, lets remove your average rating aswell.

This statement just cracks me up. I mean who could have thought delp 07 would say something like that... especially since he is the king of objectivity himself.

See, now Del Piero is Serie A's MVP. This discussion will never ever end if people continue to make Del Piero out to be something he's not.
See now, the guy made a mistake. It was pretty obvious and he corrected himself a couple of posts later ;)

If you'd just waited...

And what do the average ratings tell us?

Hmmm let's see.... according to Gazetta dello Sport, the most respected Calcio newspaper in Italy, they say Trezeguet was our worst player of the season, and pretty much everybody from Zebina, Blasi, and Pessotto to Kapo, Olivera, and Appiah were miles better than Zambrotta :dazed:

They also say Totti had a great season and Veron was the best player in Serie A.

Ratings never go wrong.

Well, IMO Totti had a decent season when he actually played the football, while Veron was indeed one of the better players in Serie A. If Inter had won the Scudetto he would have certainly been the MVP for the season; some of his displays were world class.

But the ratings don't say that.

First you chose to ignore the part about Zambrotta and Trezeguet and other Juve players....

Second, they say that Totti had almost (to within 0.02/0.04) the exact ratings as Ibrahimovich and Cannavaro, which he doesn't the least bit deserve.

And Veron, who according to you had some world class displays ....and considering Inter did NOT win the scudetto, was found to be the best player in Serie A?

Actually i am very subjective when it comes to alex if he has a horrible game ill admit it as he had many games below par this season, but you dont give him praise when it matters so dont even try to play that card andy
