Chiellini is good at anticipating, heading and putting pressure. moving him forward is a tactical move in wich he'll fight for the off balls. Its pretty hard against a fast mobile anticipating tackeling jumping heading and duelpower player to win those offbals.
Basically, you are confining the opponent and eliminating much of the counters. In a way, its filling up the abscence of marchisio in a diffrent way
But you can disregard that. I'm sure conte does it cause he wants to show marotta he needs wingers
