yeah, only chance to get Di Maria is if Conte says he's the type of winger he wants and Agnelli let's Marotta spend about 40m.

But man, Di Maria and Tevez with their crazy work rate putting constant pressure on opposing defence? Conte would never stop smiling.

Obviously not as big as Pepe because Pepe is a niche player but Di Maria's work rate is incredible and he's constantly tracking back to defend.

But is he really worth the giving up pogba?

You got 50m to sign 3 of these for a formation switch to 4-3-3, how would do it realistically? Don't forget you need one reserve bench + good starters to make the 4-3-3 switch worth while.

    Di Maria
    Sanchez
    Griezmann
    Nani
    Cerci
    Menez
    Shaqiri
    Bonaventura
    Callejon
    Lamela
    Biabiany
    Lavezzi
    Cuadrado
    Ljajic

Guess this list is realistic and with guys who are either not getting enough playing time or current club could be tempted to sell.
Griezmann and Nani + bring back one of our youngsters(Gabbiadini/Berardi).

Nani having trouble at ManU would not make him want sky high wages and Griezmann being at Sociedad and moving to a top club would get much better wages he's getting now I presume.

with the rumors circulating now, by next season we will get menez for free, nani for 12m, berardi back and one more winger. and to be fair I think that's enough. if u look at athletico Madrid, they are doing well in both CL and league and they have weaker players in each position than us expect CF and GK. If berardi develops well and gains his spot I recon we would have a killer of a team without even selling pogba.

We don't need truely World Class Wingers to compete imo

Because our defence is World Class ( by todays standards) and our Midfield is definitely World Class

1 talented Winger like Nani (If he can keep fit) and some able back ups like Menez would be fine for a couple of seasons

Not to mention some cheap upgrades for the bench.

World class defense by today's standards ? What does that even mean ? You mean the 'world class' defense that has been leaking cheap goals all through the season ?

Our defense is clearly the most overrated part of the team.

Chiellini and Barzagli, two top 5 CBs when they're on their game

Yes, by todays standards our defence is World Class. As in, it's up there with the best in the World.

Unfortunately we play a 3 man defence and no matter who we field, there's one mistake prone defender in the heart of the defence.

Licht Chiellini and Barzagli would be starters in almost every team in Europe. in addition we have solid bench players like Ogbonna, Caceres Bonucci (if we change to 4-3-3). If you think they are not good enough look at other top teams and their backup CBs and RBs. The only thing we lack is a WC LB (for the 4-3-3). we would have Ogbonna as a backup CB/LB and Asamoah as CM/LB and Chiellini can play there too. Murru would be a nice backup too but i would loan him out first...

I hope there is truth in the Manduzic rumours, he'd be immense here. Fuck width gimme something like:

    Buffon
    Litch-Barza-Chiellini-LB
    Vidal-Pirlo-Asamoah
    Tevez
    Llorente-Mandzucic

Ok, maybe some width but Mandzucic would be a top addition to this squad.

Again that doesnt suggest anything. Why are people so obsessed with these terminologies ? Did our 'world class' defense come to the rescue in the Champions League ?

And blaming on the formation is nonsense.Players make the formation. You cant blame individual defensive errors which as happened quite often down to formation.

Our defense right now comprises of one top defender in Barzagli but he's 33 which is the main problem.Chiellini who's having an indifferent season which may or may not be due to age.I definitely wouldnt call him top 5 based on this season. And the rest are either not top level or havent got there yet.

The only thing we can judge here is how good the defensive unit is collectively. It is very good no doubt, but world class ? Lets calm down shall we.

The fact is, our defence IS up there with the best. I never said our defence is invincible, did I?

It's not World Class? Oh ok then, you'll have no problem naming 5 clubs who are definitely better at defending than us then.

    'The players make the formation'

    ... Obviously.

Which is why I said, when we play a 3 MAN DEFENCE, we HAVE to field somebody like Bonucci, who is prone to a gigantic error. If we were a back 4 he would not be in the starting line up

If you seriously think there's a lot of teams out there who are better than us at defending, you're clearly not watching enough of their games.
