Is Caceres non-EU? An article I read in tuttomercato says that we're after Guarin but since he's non-EU we won't be able to get him this January if we get Caceres. That implies that Caceres is non-EU but I could swear that somebody here said how Martin got an EU passport recently.

Martin is non-EU.

He could have applied for a Spanish passport, but too late now, I guess.

He's got 3 league goals since joining Chelsea, and is on €10m a season after tax. He's not shown his better Liverpool form in a long time. Is it worth such a big risk?
Yes, if Conte can turn Barzagli to such a monster as he is now, imagine how goood Torres would be in our team. :touched:

We have Marchisio, Vidal and Pirlo who are likely to be starters next season too and we also have Pazienza who's a very decent sub and Pizarro coming too. Guarin? I love that guy, but no way we're getting him. He's too good to be a 5th choice and that just sounds silly.

He won't be a 5th choice. I don't really know the guy and his abilities/characteristics, but my guess is that he would be a replacement for Vidal and/or Marchisio. Pizarro and Pirlo fight for 1 single position and have nothing to do with the other CMs. Pazienza might be kept and might be sold, but in any case Pazienza is what I would expect to be the 6th CM. Someone who'll get to start only if two of Vidal/Marchisio/Guarin are unavailable and be on the bench when one of them is out.

What if Pazienza leaves, and we have CL.

Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pizarro and Guarin would be excellent depth.
Despite of more games we'll always play Vidal - Marchisio - Pirlo. Pizarro is also there (I assume) so even if Pazienza leaves he'd be kinda too much. I don't know if Guarin would accept to be in such rotation and get only a part-time playing because it's too hard to place any of our current midfielders on the bench.

I agree it would be an excellent depth but at the same time looks like a dream.

It does make sense but I'd rather think of some mediocre player coming to get such role. I still believe that X player would get very little chances next to exploded Marchisio and Vidal who's gonna carry our midfield. Hopefully I'm wrong and we get Guarin, though.

IF we get Champions League they'd be alot of space for Guarin, Vidal can not play every game.
Yeah I guess that makes sense...

Oh well, I hope he likes that offer because I'm damn sure more clubs are gonna bid for that guy.

That would be great
someone who can replace Pirlo also in the upcoming seasons

I rather see we buy Strootman but he will be unknow for Marotta
what a great talent is that.
Strootman would be very nice indeed. Good feet and delicate passing.

Torres is still a quality player worth getting (one with a weak mentality, but still top notch material), but only for the right price, not huge sums or such.

I'll say again that his salary is way beyond our reach at the moment, and unless he's willing to take a significant pay cut, then I don't think it's worth paying that much. There are quite a few players worth looking at if we even make the CL, strikers aren't lacking at all.

I kind of agree, but if we manage to loan him with option /obligation to buy, we might pay his salary when Iaq, Ama, Toni, Grosso and the likes leaves.

i agree with both of you we can afford him if these inutile players go and he also needs to cut his wage something like 5 milion + 2 bonus

Our buys in Jan need to be quick. No deadline day entries please. Bringing players early would get them prepared, adjusted by Jan. Bringing them amidst the headlines on deadline day along with all the pressure would get them adjusted by March. The earlier, the better. The earlier, the cheaper.
