Rolando and Sneijder would be two meaningless and worthless acquisitions. They won't do shit for us in the CL, and would barely assist (if at all) in our Scudetto push.

Okay I think we all knew his intentions when he stated it. But by him saying he doesn't want to renew now, clearly shows that he wants to think his future over. Obviously it will be a loss but we knew he would leave so.

These kind of signings(Rolando and Sneijder) are a case of being blinded by Serie A success.

Meanwhile, the struggle in europe is gonna continue.

Tevez will be leaving at the end of the next season and the upcoming summer will probably be the best time to make a slow and smooth transition to 433.

Signing one Sneijder would ruin the plan.To make things worse he's totally washed up,nowhere near the best around which'd makr this signing look even more ridiculous.

It seems so. I realize January isn't the best time to acquire players (too much shit floating around, overpriced crap, or both), but if we can't improve the squad to compete in the CL, then these investments a la Rolando and Sneijder are needless to say the least. We can win Serie A without them, and we most definitely won't do anything extra in Europe with them on the roster.

what´s all this whining about rolando? imo it´s REALLY obvious that it´s just a safety first signing.
half of our CBs have been out for several months and nobodys knows when they will return and what condition they will be in.
and if anything goes wrong i would rather see rolando as CB than storari.
the numbers i was reading about were 500k loan with an option (4m) to buy. a REAL option, not an udinese "option". furthermore, afaik he is on like 600k salary per year.
even if you think that he´s completely unnecessary -- which is quite a bold statement to make considering we have no clue about the real condition of our injured players. barzagli has been said to have returned like 5 times already and still isn´t training with the team afaik -- it´s probably not worth your time to complain about ^^.

i´m not a rolando-fan at all but as a safety-net? i don´t care. go full retard about this "excuse" if you want but ask yourself first if it´s so smart to start the new year with 3 fit CBs.

it´s also funny to see people lining up the alternatives.
JUST buy nastasic. he hasn´t played in ages and can´t even make the city bench but hey... (i like him btw. ^^)

Nastasic is miles ahead of that guy, so it's pretty useless to say something like that. But yeah, it is a stupid comparison cause getting Nastasic is way harder, if not impossible.

We do need a CB. But getting a bad CB just because "we might need him" makes no sense either. We're gonna be stuck with him for years, unless that loan deal is true. I'm sure people would justify the move even if it was permanent, just because we did it.

Chiellini, Bonucci, Ogbonna, Rolado. IMO that's pretty horrible. Not one of them is stable defender. Not one of them has a remotely good technique and none of them is good with the ball.

hell yeah, i´m all for it... i also rate nastasic because of his potential but i don´t think there is any chance to get him, considering our budget.
furthermore, if we bought a better defender than rolando the others would still remain unstable, bad with ball etc..., right? so i guess we will have to live with that at least until the summer, especially if we want to go for shaqiri.
imo the only reason for this deal is to better be safe than sorry. i don´t want to see vidal or licht getting moved to CB or some other stunts like that. maybe barzagli and caceres will return to full form right away and rolando will look like an absolute fool signing but on the other hand they could also suffer a relapse and another one of our CBs could get injured...

Bonucci is pretty good with the ball for a defender, although he looks a bit clumsy at times.

And of course there are his occasional brainfarts, but that's another case. And even those have fortunately been relatively absent this season.

Really? Other than his passes I'd say he's pretty bad with the ball. Better than Chiellini but still kinda bad.
