People consider Lucio one of the all-time great defenders. It is a complete joke to the game.

- - - Updated - - -

Hate all you want but Lúcio had some great memorable moments in his career, something 90% of 00's Italian defenders could only dream of. Overrated? Yes. But far from being the worst of them all.
See, there you go. That's all the overraters ever talk about, the stuff he won. But on the pitch he was a complete joke at Bayern and was thankfully (for his sake) helped by Mourinho at Inter where he had great cover in front of him and that number four guy to his right. His marking was shaky at best and when people ran at him he stood no chance of making a decent tackle. But hey, at least he could really attack well, right?

Lucio is THE MOST overrated defender of all time. Nobody else even comes close.

Lúcio an all-time great defender? Never heard it before. In fact I've never met anyone who rated him that high.

At one point in his career he was a very good defender it's true but not that good. Apart from that he was too inconsistent to even bother comparing with the greats.

There's absolutely nothing Maradona has done that Pelé hasn't done it better. This whole Pelé vs. Maradona comparison is laughable.

And Ronaldo no 2? Really? Why is Ronaldo always so overrated by Europeans? If we look at Brazil's Football history, Ronaldo was the last great striker, but before him there were many and most of them in our opinion were better Footballers, Romário is a good example. Careca is another.

So what are we really comparing here? One's talent as a professional footballer and his achievements to an extent or just who's more famous?

They always name Cafú and forget Jorginho. Or in Bjerknes' link case, Lúcio and forget Aldair. Who were clearly better players.

Yeah, but he's an English EPL fan, so his opinion has about as much value as the Russian Ruble right now.

That author more than likely would respond to a Pirlo vs. Gerrard poll with "Gerrard>>>>>>>Pirlo".

"Maldini was a very good player, not a great player (indeed, at Euro 96 he was made to look a very goofy player by Karel Poborsky, no less). Essentially, Maldini was a dishy Gary Neville. The defensive David Beckham."
**** off. Insulting Italian legends.

Di marzio: Juventus contacts Shaqiri's agent

Juventus Has Been in contact with Shaqiri's agent. They would like to acquire him on loan with option to buy, Bayern wants it to be a forced option considering the Swiss international's contract expires in 2016.

Di marzio: Juventus contacts Shaqiri's agent
Would be a good buy for us. Unfortunately can't play in CL but he'd still add some creativity and pace. GDM mentioned our contacts with his agent last summer and the situation was pretty much the same: option vs forced buy-out.

Marotta loves this kind of things within Italy, curious why he doesn't want to do the same with Shaqiri. Good thing there's something on AM/winger though. This is what we need the most right now.
