Denco: I really like debatting with you as there's an exhaustible pool of disagreement with the additional 100 complies

.
Sometimes I think supporting juve moust really be a strenoius task for you though, as you seem to think us inferior to most sides

Glen, do u actually think that our defence can handle carew, I personally don't think so as pace wise they are nowhere, power wise no contest and i admire your faith in Trez even if I do not share it as the likes of Pellegrino and Ayala will be licking their lips at the prospect of marking a player who offers little other than goal scoring but anything can happen
Carew is a major threat in the air. A shame Tudor isn't ready/trusted to take him out. The way you carachterize Trez, I'm surprised you don't see the same danger for the Valencia's men though. Trez can hurt them just as much in the air, and he has MUCH more skill than Carew who is essentially a big chunk of meet. Honestly- apart from Zalayeta it's difficult to find worse finishing than Carew's. Still- respect for his ability and of course he has been very influentail in recent CL games. The fact that Arsenal's defence was quite far from it's ideal state didn't make it more difficult for him though. Even if I disagree with your characterisation of Trez as much as you do mine (ehem... that's not astro physics as one prompts the other

), I don't quite see why his goals wouldn't be enough? YOu believe Carew's are, and if there's something he can't do (and yes, oh boy, there is)- it's participate in build up actions.

Offers very little in CL? He has scored 3 goals though which is in comparison quite neat looking at other clubs midfield stars; the screaming equalizer at Depor the most important one, and he is also in CL our most influential player in my view. It's difficult for me to agree that Nedved craves space too. He creates space for himself through tiredless running, and that in my eyes is his best quality. Every midfielder looks better when he has space. It's the opponents prerogative making sure he get's the least possible.

Yeah.... our other prodigial offensive star, our top scorer in serie A and CL despite injury, second in the all time top scorers chart of CL, among the peak performers in serieA this season... is also one to dismiss as being next to ordinary... Has Aimar, Saviola or Rivaldo been as good or influentail as DP this season? Me thinks not.
++ [ originally posted by denco ] ++We have to be on top of our game and even that may not be enuff to beat any of the remaining teams
Sure, but so do they. Who would expect anything else from a CL quarter final? Look at the starting lineups of the 3 teams we can face and tell me you can't find weaknesses that either compares with ours or are equal to them?
++ [ originally posted by denco ] ++As for Barcelona, I do fear for our defenders in Nou Camp as there is no hiding place in that stadium due to the size of its pitch
As I said- Barca at peak form is a terrible opponent. You need look no further than the Primera standings to see that it's not necessarily that frequent a phenomena however. But turn it around and tell me Barca hasn't got defensive issues on their own?
Again- who thought a CL quarter final would be a walk in the park? On the other hand- does number 3 In Italy or number 4 and 9 in Spain really have to get us into fits of panic as holding champions and current Italian league leaders? I think not.
We know they're quality. They know were quality. All teams can beat eachother on any given night.
