So where do they start out? 2nd or 3rd division?
They'll have to apply to be admitted into the Third Division (fourth tier of Scottish football), but there is no guarantee they'll be accepted.

They will also, I believe, involve them being considered as starting from scratch by the football authorities i.e they lose their history.

Oh, fuck yeah:

A newco Rangers will be refused admittance to the Scottish Premier League after Aberdeen became the fifth club to publicly oppose the move.

Mere words can't even come close to describing the satisfaction that it is Aberdeen that puts the final nail in the huns' coffin.

:touched:

2 questions:

isnt this detrimental to scottish football?
how much prestige does the scottish league lose with no old firm derbies?

Sporting integrity has trumped the financial hit the game will take.

You can't legalise cheating just because of how big a club is.

If Rangers had been allowed back in it would have been the end of Scottish football because pretty much every non-Rangers fan would have stopped going to games.

Game will take a hit short term, but if they do the right thing and start redistributing TV money fairly the league will become far more competitive and interesting instead of just being a two-horse race every year.
