To be honest in the home counties its not that uncommon for a family to own horses, especially in the countryside. You only stand out when you are a breeder, if you used to lead a hunt (before the ban - which I support) or own stables.

I am I suppose proud that my family has succeeded and has nice stuff, but its not my stuff. When I earn something im proud that ive earnt it - ie working all summer to take my ex to The Gambia for a week 5* ( ) or saving for a nice tv, but its just things and it isn't how I want to be as a functioning member of society, i'd happily work for expenses given the line of work I want to go into.

Speaking of death. I was driving back from my part time runner/legal assistant job. As a went past the local park I saw a dead dog on the side of the road, across from it children were playing. I thought isn't that ironic, so much joy, innocence, beginning, etc right next to something representative of the end. Then as I came to the end of the park I saw a telephone pole. On the pole was a flyer. The paper read, lost dog, reward if found. The true irony.
