well there are loads but to name a few,

1- here family bonds are very important bec thats what we r asked to maintain in our religion. complete obidence to both parents is second to worshipping god.

2- our religion instructs us to give 2.5% of our income in the way of Allah to help the needy and less fortunate of us. this also helps people in need have there necessities, and it helps reduce poverty with in the communtiy. it also helps decrease any ill fated tensions between the rich and the poor.

3- fasting in ramadan, one of the main reason we fast is to makes us aware of how the poor live, and how lucky we r to have gods blessings. it also teaches muslim to be patient, and thank ful for what we have

these are a few that i have on my mind.
honor thay father and thay mother, at the very least 1000 years before islam, but probably even before. and i am going to argue with you that no nutritional specialist will agree that fasting is good for your body. that's like breaking a window so you create jobs to fix it. why not, instead of fasting, spend the month volunteering

Look, enough talk about religions please. Everyone has his beliefs. Let's respect each other by not talking or commenting about each other religions. I don't mean that you bashed Islam, but I think it's enough talking about religions.

This is completely idiotic. Children are not property, they are not slaves. They should have their freedom.

This is called "taxes". In a country like Sweden if you have a high salary you will pay 45% in income tax, with lots of other taxes on products you buy.

and it helps reduce poverty with in the communtiy. it also helps decrease any ill fated tensions between the rich and the poor.
Sounds very noble. Protect the rich from the poor so that the rich can continue being rich.

bes i know it is in the bible. as for fasting i dont know the exact answer to yr question but i will ask some one who knows and i will get back to u.

just ot clarify the bit about fasting and its importance in a better writen way than what i wrote:

The act of fasting is said to redirect the heart away from worldly activities, its purpose being to cleanse the inner soul and free it from harm. Properly observing the fast is supposed to induce a comfortable feeling of peace and calm. It also allows Muslims to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and sympathy for those who are less fortunate. It is also intended to make Muslims more generous and charitable. A certain level of self-control can be lost by those who suffer from eating disorders.[2]

The elderly, the chronically ill and the insane are exempt from fasting, although the first two groups must endeavor to feed one poor person each day in place of their missed fasting. Also exempt are pregnant women, women during the period of their menstruation, and women nursing their newborns, all of whom must make up the days they miss at a later date. While fasting is not considered compulsory in childhood, many children endeavor to complete as many fasts as possible as practice for later life. Lastly, those traveling are exempt, but must make up the days they miss.[Qur'an 2:184] More specifically, Twelver Shī‘ah define those who travel more than 14 miles in a day as exempt.[2]. Elderly who suffers from a disability or a diseases and there are in no shape of getting better in future can pay the cost of Eftar for a person who cant afford it, or they can host him in there house and have him eat with them when sun falls down as a method for repaying for the days they could not fast

1: People do this that aren't Muslim, and did it before Islam.

2: The Mormons give 10%, you JEWS!

3: Starving yourselves is not a custom, it's an eating disorder, ANOREXIC!

Because it is useless I will keep defending my religion and you'll keep commenting, so what do you want to prove here?
I can answer this one. He wants to prove that what you're saying is nonsense and what you believe is false. (About these wonderful customs everyone else should want to have.)

the way i see it, there are two option

-religions should be part of public life and therefore they need to be scrutinized and like everything else hold their own on a debate, requiring a lot of openmindness on the part of the believer or,

-we all shut up, agree religions are not suited to everyone and all religious people stop making them public and keep them to themselves (think of the implications of this one)

alright boys, i am back to work, you enjoy the rest of the morning/afternoon/evening
