I loved it, but I was 19-20 when i read it, not sure i wwould like or finish it now. I say at least read the first book, du cote de chez Swann, especially the chapter un amour de swann
I rented my place out and moved my things to the cellar. The tenant then ignored letters from a construction company, which lead to destruction of my property. Initially the tenant took responsibility (i have recorded our oral agreement) but now he moved out and is refusing to pay up.

In most cases the problem would be proving that a verbal agreement ever existed. Then there's the fact that Belgian law sometimes requires specific proof. For agreements involving a certain amount of money, this proof can only be given through written documents for example. In reality judges often allow all sorts of proof though, but I must say I wonder what they'do in your case.
If you can prove there was an agreement and the party failed to carry out his part of the deal, you can either ask the court to force him to do so or, when this possibility no longer exists, ask for damages.
I did, instantly 😃. Anyways, all very exciting. There's a good chance that the actual lawsuit is going to be without lawyers as the money involved isnt too big. Time to act out my Boston Legal daydreaming.
Wish civil property law was this fast and strict in India, ive been trying to vacate my property for years now, the cases are passed on from generation to generation.

We have special courts for stuff like this in Belgium. People often represent themselves before those. I've seen some of them do a great job even.
If it's something similar in Denmark, ask for pointers from lawyers you know. Just practical stuff so you know what to expect. Also, most judges are sympathetic to people when they are there in person. Just speak up your mind, provide proof and he'll help you through it.
