Btw, how many goal line tech advocates felt satisfied by the second goal in the France-Honduras match today?
I think it did a good job of illustrating this false belief that there's any one perfect perspective of reality that's irrefutable and not subject to error.
Not exactly the 100% entirely satisfying result I think people expected.

But there were also multiple slow-motion perspectives where it wasn't so clear that the whole of the ball crossed the whole of the line.
The suggestion is there will be a point where goals or no goals are going to have to be called by the technology when every camera angle on TV will suggest the opposite. People have to be happy with that, and my suspicion is that they won't... because again it goes back to this false belief of a single human camera view that's the true picture of "reality" or the truth. It's human psychology playing tricks on its own ignorance and intolerance for uncertainty.
