Not happening, trust me. If Brazil somehow manages to fuck up along the way, Argentina will take over and win it. It's written. We'll come back to this thread next year and you'll see i was right.
You are right about Brazil but we saw last year Italy pretty much controlled the match vs Uruguay despite it going to penalties, and Argentina have a shit defence and midfield, I see them going out in the quarters, they are massively overrated, if they are very lucky they could make it to the semi's.

I never said Italy are gonna win it. Crimsonian conveniently forgot how the ref gave Neymar two freekicks from two pathetic dives, which lead till two goals.

As I said last summer - I don't believe they will get that much luck (resting time, refs etc.) as we saw to the Confeds and that's why I don't think they'll win.

1. I didn't forget anything, one was clearly not diving, the other one i'm not sure. Doesn't change the fact Italy was completely dominated and only scored because of Brazil's own mistakes.

2. Italy's second goal SHOULDN'T have been allowed, the referee called for a PK, whistled and then changed his mind. Is that amateur Football?? That's absolutely against the rules. If a PK was to be taken, it's a 50/50 chance of scoring or missing. So don't give me that crap.

That's not even true for an average penalty, and Balotelli at that time had never missed a single one before, so that increases the odds even more.

Brazil was better that day, but not by much, to say they dominated is a complete exaggeration.

Brazilian being biased, who would have thought. :D
And 50/50 chance of penalty conversion is hilarious assumption.

Italy's problem is their defense, if they get their defense in shape then they'll be a serious contender.
I think Italy's great attack and midfield can carry them far in the tournament, and if Prandelli is smart and utilises the 3-5-2 against the stronger teams, there's a chance Italy can win it...obviously need a bit of luck going their way of course.

I still think Brazil are the clear favourites to win though. Improved team, home crowds, biased refs. It's all going to work in their favour.

Much better, clearly the best team of the 2 as it has been for the last 30 years.

Balotelli is a good PK taker and would probably score, i'll give you that. But then it's a probability, anything could happen.

Maybe 50/50 was a bad percentage for a PK but it doesn't change the fact it should have been one instead of a goal.

That was an amateurish decision by the referee in Italy's favour that you conveniently didn't even remember to mention.

Shut up or i won't support Croatia

Italy have breezed through their past few qualifications. Haven't lost a qualifier in 7 years (either WC or EC)

Never write them off in any tournament.
I never did, in my book both Brazil and Italy are the teams you never write off of a tournament. Although i find they will go through hell if they're to play either Brazil or Argentina. IMO they're better off playing the big European names. In fact, IMO, i think this Italian team will do better than people expect, better than those big European names. (Tbh i'd have to take another look at the groups to see who they will probably play past group stage).

The defense hasn't been as good. Pirlo's not the same. Balotelli has gone off the deep end. I don't think they're better. Rossi is the only improvement.
