Nice win, Ukraine didn't stand a chance. Zambrotta is divine...

I left the pub :pint: around the 80th minute ;) I was really pissed about subbing in Zaccardo as the last sub and left after awhile (after totti's ridicilous spoon attempt) . Truth.

We didnt have that many good scoring chances, but were lucky enough to finish the one's we did have. Next game MUST have Toni, Totti and Pippo in there from the start in a 4-3-1-2 formation
Almost right, not Pippo but Alex.

I'm happy that we beat Ukraine 3-0, but I feel theere's still room for improvement...not so much with the players, but with Lippi's tactics

I'm sorry, but this 4-4-1-1 crap will not work against a better team like the Germans. We need at least 2 strikers in at all times, which will help both Toni and Totti. We must expect that Germany will have a more potent attack, and we need to show more offensive strength in turn.

well lippi's idea of the 4-4-1-1 is to compact the midfield, toni is more than capable of playing as a lone striker, he gets better service with the 4 in mid, im in favour of it. cuz wotever formation we play we will always play men behind the ball, and the 4-4-1-1 is best suited for us, especially to gon th ecounter attack with.

Zambrotta, simply man of the match...
Agreed, and of course Canna amazing and Buffon with two great saves. Toni with a brace also deserves a high grade and so does Gattuso who did a lot of work. Pirlo, Camoranesi were weak I thought. Totti mediocre - had the assist but the rest was the usual crap we're used to.

I am sure next game will start with the formation you mentioned. I am not sure Pippo will get to start though; however, I think him and Toni would make a great partnership. Italy lack crossing and now with Lippi playing Zambrotta on the left he should take note that he is there better and Oddo will get more time on the right.

I just watched the interview with Lippi, while interviewing him he saw Sheva and shouted: Ciao Sheva and he came near him and kissed him.

He also said that it is not the end target for us, he said that he asks in the dressing room if this is where they want to reach.

In the end he dedicated this victory to Pessotto.

agree, the 4-4-1-1 line up will not work against Germany. Lippi should give more chances to Pippo.
So far, I'm happy with the victory. Italy played well (as we did against Ghana).
So, Forza Italy!! we can defeat to the germans!

I'm very happy about the result but wont get carried away with it. Very good to see Toni join the party, he looked like he was gonna cry when he scored his 1st - I felt so happy 4 him. On top of being happy bout the scoreline, there's the wonderful fact that no one got suspended - which I honestly didnt expect.
MOM 4 me was definately Zambrotta. Without doubt.

Forza Azzuri !!

I really hope that the Azzurri win this WC. The Calciopoli, the way they're treated by the media, Pessotto, the revenge of 2002...

FORZA AZZURRI!!

Italy-Germany. Now that's a classic
