My side was screwed over. Mastroeni should have received a yellow and Pope did not deserve that second yellow because HE GOT BALL goddamnit. We played better than Italy in the first half and played better than they did sometimes in the second with even nine fucking men. I hope this ref gets shot in the face as he totally fucked us over and we should have won this game.

After the big disapointment in the first game our performance tonight was awesome. Dempsey skipped around the best left-back in the world, Donovan made Cannavaro look like an MLS defender, and Italy looked like utter shit. Our performance was quite solid and we made Italy look like the overrated whiners that they are for much of the match. Well done my boys and we need a win against Ghana on Thursday.

PS - All of you who said we would be destroyed today can go sulk over yourselves.

if you watch pope's 2nd yellow closely, he hit the ball first. stupid attempt though anyways

I really wanted the US to win that one, and you can't say they didn't give it a try. I don't know any other team that would attack that much with 9 men. Credit to all of them

For me the highlight of the game was a clip of bruce arena when beasely's goal was ruled off, he's cheering, then you can see him scream " FUCK YOU" :lol2:

The Ref was the best man on the pitch. In a very hot headed game he was calm and did not have too many mistakes. Iaqunta should have made that penalty much more obvious by diving or stopping.
The ref was good. The linesmen were drunk

Self destruction at it's best. So what excuses will the italians have of they fail to qualify? They palyed a lousy game, the US had more desire & should have won this game. Too much diving by the italians .... Especially Toni, a man of his size goes down way too easily.
Azzuri should have never employed Greg Luganus* as a coach.

*Yes I know hes dead.

Italy looked terrible. It seems that the 1sy half got them quite exhausted (I didn't see the first 35 min of the game). They were totally out of shape.
Iaquinta had two or three one-on-ones which were wrongly called offsides. In addition a PK should've been awarded to him. I still have no-clue why the hell did the ref give Zambrotta a yellow card...

One has to say the most beautiful goal in this tornament was scored ny Zacardo.

Nesta was very solid. Del Piero had a chance which he was played the best way posssible but Keller out-played himself with a fantastic save.
I hear De Rossi's challenge was really terrible and unnecessary...
The group has become the most challenging group in the WC. All can qualify. Italy needs only a draw against Czech. Such mentaltiy would cost them the world cup..
I really have no clue what has gone into Italy and Czech today. Was it arrogance?
Very tight position for Czech as well. A must win game for them.

The only way Italy and Czech qualify is that USA beats Ghana and Italy V Czech ends in a draw. A tall order.
Thurday is going to be one hell of a test for the Italians. If they really want to win the world cup, they should start by beating Czech.
How did Totti play during the first 35 min? Was he any good?

That's the funny part, Andy. Both sides feel they have been screwed. Iaquinta's case towards the end of the was simply a clear cut penalty, there's no denying in that. Mastroeni got the ball through the Italian's legs, I agree. But just "getting the ball" isn't sufficient. You can't just throw a bomb at a player, then pick the ball up and go whine because you "got the ball".

The USA STILL looked like shit anyway. In case you forgot, you were 11 against 10 against a completely demoralised team. Had you been somewhat mature, which you weren't you bunch of 3-year olds, you would have won today.

Thank God Del Piero entered the pitch so the game got at least a hint of class.

VERGOGNATEVI! And that's aimed at ALL players and officials out there.

Penalty on Iaquinta
I agree that there was a foul, but it's Iaquintas fault. He was just not clever enough. Pippo would have done that foul much more obvious. For the referee this is hard to see, since he mainly sees the backs of the players and if I remember correctly the defender is pulling the side of Iaquintas shirt. There was a mistake, but it was difficult for him.

numerous wrong offside calls
In this cases the ref has to trust his assistents. Blame them.

several monstrous fouls simply not given

Sorry, I don't agree that there were so many fouls not giving.

he's right handed and he treated to kick the ball with the left :disagree:
