dissapointing..now will lippi see why del piero deserves to start ?
He was the best playmaker for Italy, especially after Pirlo's battery ran out. Kasey Keller took his lunch though.

omg how crap was the ref? not so much for his sendings off, but especially in the 2nd half the limiteda mmount of genuine fouls he failed to notice, yet in the first half any kind of physical touching the ref wud blow that bloody whistle, usa were dirty in their play, so dirty i infact praise de rossi for what he did.
and zaccardo? i hope he never ever graces that football pitch with a italia shirt, wot on heavens earth was that? he cudnt do that again in a million chances.

tho i give credit to pirlo in his determination, and lippi for his choices, i know many will say putting on iaquint was a mistake, but i think he beats that offside trap far better than pippo does, but obviously the linesman was far too blind to notice how half of them were onside, Italia are gona have to buckle up some ideas because some of them fought without passion, toni dissapointed yet again, and gila was increasingly quieter as the match went on, but lippi will sort that crap out, and i dare say i hope the usa dont qualify, because they were dirty, and their fans suuuuuuucked branding the players as divers, well sorry! this is football not american football and some of their challenges especially in the 2nd half i certainly wud of given a caution to, at the very least a free kick.

ref was awful, i cant stress that anymore, jees talk about conspiracy, is berlusconi against his own nation now?

I agree on basically everything, especially about Pope. As i said above, he hit the ball.
De Rossi hit the ball too FFS, you cant wipe a player down just because the tip of your foot touched the ball.
He had already a yellow, and should've been more cautious

De Rossi blatantly elbowed McBride in the face. Pope didn't elbow nobody and Pablo's red card was crazy too.

Do you not know how the rules work??

If you tackle for he ball, and hit the ball before the player, it's not a foul as long as there are no other unrelated actions (such as an elbow to the face that has fuck all to do with going for the ball)

If you make a sliding tackle for the ball, it's only illigitimate if:

1. you hit the player first
2. you go studs up, in which case it's an indirect freekick for dangerous play

not only was the game fast but italy needed to change tactics..everyone was in the box for facks sake and they needed to slow down the tempo like capello would have done at juve, not bloody counter-attacking evertime they got the ball..totti was shit, zambrottas cross was horrible at one point, cannavaro looked like a fool, zaccardo is a pile of crap who doesnt know how to clear a ball when its coming to him and de rossi as we can see is the next totti at roma

After today's game it's simply a certainty: the FIFA want to create a grey zone in which they can mess things up. Both Italy and USA fans feel they have been robbed and the funny thing is they both were. I'm making a bold prediction here: Italy will go on and make a farce out of the game against the Czech Republic. Mark my words: three legal Italy goals disallowed.

Pope hit the player first ;).

Pope-player-ball, that was how they were running, it was impossible for Pope to hit the ball first. It was a second yellow, Sebi, get over it. There are LOADS of other things in this game to complain about.

Pablo's red card should ALWAYS be a red and should ALWAYS result in a five game ban. Why? Because he goes in there trying to injure a player. However normally you get a yellow for that foul. As much as I'm against that and as much as I believe it should be red, suddenly sending him off now is odd.

Pope's was red. It was even red the first time as Toni was alone.
