Francesco Totti will feature for Italy in their Group E opener against Ghana on Monday.
"Totti will play, a part or all of the game, you can interpret that a number of ways," coach Marcello Lippi told a news conference on Sunday.

The forward was out of action for three months after breaking his ankle in February and has only once managed to play a full 90 minutes since returning.

"I've been evaluating his progress, as I have with all my players, and I have seen him improve considerably," said Lippi.

The coach said he had made up his mind about his starting line-up but would not be telling the players until Monday morning.

The other teams in the group are USA and Czech Republic.

Is Lippi willing to let Del Piero play with Totti on this one ? I don't think so, the main reason I think is because he is not physically able to handle 90 minutes of football with Ghana. This was a good choice by Lippi, better to see him play later then never.

It seems that Iaquinta and Toni will play upfront and Totti behind them. It seems that Lippi will play it smart by benching Pirlo.

ya for sure he might miss the u.s.a game as well
This one ,against Ghana,is a special...a lot of running and energy we need, and he is the man at the midfield that we need for that task.

I don't consider USA as a major threat!
