I never said that. But you can't sit there with a straight face and tell me every American deserves to own a gun. $#@!'s not a right, it's a privilege. Given to us by the Founding Fathers. People should be able to own guns, but they should have to pass a test, take a safety class, and not have a mental disorder before they're able to purchase them. Controlling gun ownership doesn't mean eliminating it.

Next thing he'll tell us that the Stimulus package was a liberal idea.

Of course it should, but unfortunately it's too late to just ban guns outright (but it might be a start). No one needs a pistol, or an assault rifle, or half of the things one can legally buy there. It's insanity. Criminals will still get guns, but you could try to make it a bit more difficult. And "law abiding" citizens can be just as big of a problem.

And you'd be surprised what people can change.

But others purchase it, and you never know, you might lose your job and need it yourself.

American Politics: takes until the 2nd page of the topic for actual politics to be mentioned for the first time.

The choices available are shit, yet a no-brainer. You have a choice between Coke or a Chinese imitation of Pepsi. Yes: the Republicans are that bad this time around. When you have a President nominee that advocates outright Jingoism (see spoiler) and next to him a VP nominee that, not only blatantly wants a further wealth-shift away from the middle class towards the rich, but also cuts government spending from where it is needed rather than where it is not (cuts in Science investment, Social Services but not in Foreign Aid, Defence and Corporate Subsidies)

I only feel sorry for the genuinely fiscal conservatives who have to tolerate such a choice in the absence of something that they actually agree with. But that is what you get in a democracy that has long been devoured by bipartisan politics.
