I’m adding context to the narrative of ‘he was wrong in 2017 and might be wrong again’
Jaime Maussan has presented fake “alien” corpses before. He presented these ones now, that seem awfully similar to previous ones he presented. They were found in Incan territory, Cusco. They were analyzed at Autonomous National University of Mexico. And no one knows how credible his “expert” witnesses are.

A healthy dose of scepticism and doubt about anything this guy brings forward until examined by more credible and reputable institutions and scientists would be the best “side” to take.

I understand, but than; why bringing a con man under oath?

Well I’ve seen it but I fail to understand what you’re trying to say
That people are promoting batshit crazy and insane shit all the time. Even in Congress. Even by members of Congress.

And I’m not even going to claim this guy is certainly a conman. It could just be another case of him mistakenly presenting a mummified children’s corpse believing it’s an alien. Like in 2015. Could he be a conman? Sure. Could he also just be a guy who is jumping the gun again without sufficient evidence? Yes.

A very healthy dose of scepticism is warranted here.

Oh yeah of course, be skeptical. I’m not seeing this as disclosure either. Other scientists have to look to the data before we can embrace it as real. As I said I’m neutral though, I’m not going to say it’s fake because he had it wrong 6 years ago, neither am I going to say that I believe it because that’s not how science works, other scientists in many fields have to look to it first.

The question you are looking for is "What is happening, behind closed doors, to the public agenda that the government feels the need to divert attention from it."

Maybe someone from Mexico has an idea .

Like for example : "We need to raise taxes by 5%"
Que the aliens so the backlash isn't so big.

Is he lying if he believes it though?
I wasn’t describing his perspective though, but the Mexican governments pov

I think it’s a fair question, wether you’re skeptical or not. Why brining a possible con man under oath and possibly damaging the whole hearings. The effects are obvious, look at us here discussing wether we should be skeptical or not, while we kinda ignore the other ~4 hours of the hearings. I’ve yet to find a single quote of all the other speakers, so there’s a real risk involved and they should’ve thought everything through

That was my first instinct tbh.

    Perhaps

Didn’t Mexico just recently pass laws to open up abortion or something of the sort?

    Fair enough.

I’m probably in the same area on the whole notion, neutral and open to new evidence and “proof”, but perhaps with a bit more scepticism that we are going to get that.

I instantly resort to thinking that any humanoid looking aliens as fake.
Even on our planet, only a handful of species out of hundreds of thousands resemble humans in the slightest. Whats the likelihood that a being from another solar system will be similar looking?

Carl Sagan said it best: Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence.
