Look, Stu. Frings is good and all, but overrated by many. Not to mention like I just said, there are younger alternatives who would cost us just as much but have a brighter future. It's really not the end of the world missing out on Frings... a partnership such as Diarra and Almiron in midfield wouldn't be all that bad in my opinion.

Exactly. We need good experienced players who can take us back to Europe. When we get there then we can build for the future. I'm not against signing young players but we can't be depending on them in their first season. That's why I want Trez and Huntelaar or Crespo and Huntelaar.

Essien is indeed a better player but I don't think he's as complete as Frings. The Ghanaian is a beast when defending but he doesn't have the technical attacking qualities (shooting, crossing) that Frings has.

I can guarantee that we won't sign a centre mid as good as Frings this summer. The people who are glad that he's not coming are either naive or just plain stupid. We can't compete with the bigger clubs for players like Diego, Ribery, Sneijder and Van der Vaart, and you can forget about Gilberto and Gerrard because they're not coming. Our best hope for a DM now is probably Sissoko and Liverpool will not be keen on letting him go.

I find it hard to believe how Hamburg, Werder, and OM could get those players, and yet we can't. The majority of teams that we are competiting against in Calcio Mercato already have great group of players so any addition they do will be marginal. In contrast, the players at our disposal do not match your reputation, so Juve naturally have more capacity to invest for those players mentioned than the most. In another words, Juve could match dollar for dollar for those players with any team, bar Chelski & Real IMO, who operate on a different financial world. Not playing CL hurts our chances, but I think with clever mercato strategy we can add some quality signings over the summer. I am not sure whether VDV is on our radar, but I think we would be realistic quality signing. We can probably live off one more year with Nedved, so buying somebody with relatively high pay-off, but a lot of risk like VDV fits in the perfectly IMO.

We alredy have a lot of good established old players in key position. So our strategy should focus on bargain buys, meaning we should target players with something to prove, and on their day be world-class, than spending reckless money for players who are doing well. In that way, we can also see whether DD is good enough coach to be entrusted with for many years.

You can't honestly believe that even with players such as Frings and other oldies that we would secure a top four spot without a doubt. It's going to take time and hard work, and I'm sure many of our players understand that.

Everybody needs time to adjust to a new league. Some do it better than others. Doesn't really matter if somebody is suited for the league or not.

It's not that we can't compete with Hamburg, Bremen and Marseille, we can't compete with the other teams who want VDV, Diego and Ribery. And again, it's not about money. If Diego leaves Bremen, regardless of the transfer fee, do you really think he will choose Juve? Ribery has already made it clear that he prefers England, but even if he didn't, he would still join Milan and Inter before signing for us.

Well, I mean, what do you want us to do? We can't sign players who don't want to join Juventus. But it's really Frings' loss if he doesn't want to join us... perhaps shows that his ambition is not as high as we thought.
